The Nashville Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour held its most recent event at Champions Run Golf Course in Rockvale. 87 players competed for contest prizes of over $3,500 and over $1,600 paid out in our optional side games.

    Division 1
Two players finished their rounds tied at the top. Michael Cooper from Franklin and Nathan Calahan from Winchester posted rounds of 2-under par 69. Both headed to a playoff to decide the winner. Calahan makes par on the 1st playoff hole to claim the title. Newcomer Alexander Schroettinger from Murfreesboro shoots an even par round of 71 to take 3rd place.

    Division 2
Another playoff was needed to determine the final outcome as a pair of golfers hailing from Murfreesboro, Kyle Merkler and Micheal Lynn, finished tied with rounds of 5-over par 76. Merkler secures the top spot with a par on the 1st playoff hole. Atlanta Chapter member, Sean Pierce, wrapped up 3rd place at 6-over par 77. A host of 5 players finished in a logjam for 4th place at 7-over par 78: Walter Hill’s Chris Randolph, Tennessee East member Johnny Pierce, Dickson’s Lowe Prescott, Murfreesboro’s Ben Worthen and Lebanon’s Dan Estes.

    Division 3
Murfreesboro’s Colm Murphy continued his hot play and captures a two-stroke victory. Murphy, who finished 2nd at President’s Reserve two weeks ago, posted 7-over 78 en route to his win. Spring Hill’s Todd Osinski was the next closest competitor at 9-over 80. A pair of golfers, Bryan Harwell from Lewisburg and James Newkirk from Brentwood, finished in a 3rd place tie with their rounds of 10-over 81. A gaggle of players tied for 5th place: Don Weiss Jr from Dickson, Pegram’s Caleb Cart, Robert Vaughn from Columbia and Cookeville’s Drew Blalock.

    Division 4
Kentucky Chapter’s Bob Bristow catches lightning in a bottle and scores an excellent round of 9-over 80 to score the victory over newcomer to the tour, Vanleer’s Kyle Neblett. Neblett posts 11-over par 82 in his 1st round on tour. 3 players tied for 3rd place: John Kelsey and Josh McPherson, both from Burns, and Madison Murphy. All 3 finished at 14-over 85.

    Division 5
Birmingham Chapter member Terry Hodge finished the day at 16-over 87 and scored a two-stroke victory over Smyrna’s Chris Mayor, who scored an 18-over par round of 89. Charlotte’s Cole Smith and Tennessee East’s Peter Ko finish in a 3rd place tie at 20-over 91.

    Open Net competition
Micheal Lynn takes the win with his net round of 2-under par 69 to best John Kelsey by one stroke who finished at 1-under par 70.
