Tournament Champions
Mother Nature showed a bit of mercy to the players at the Tulsa APT Golf event presented by Hasty Bake Grills on Saturday, April 18th at Cherokee Hills Golf Club. Overnight rain forced players to stick to cart paths, but the sunshine was a welcome relief after severe storms moved through the area earlier that morning.
A total of 71 players teed it up on a brisk day, battling wind gusts reaching up to 30 mph on the challenging layout.
Division 1
New member John Ryan Bonaobra claimed victory and a spot on the Hasty Bake podium with an impressive 7-over 77 on the tough par-70 course. Braxton Henley finished four shots back in second, while TJ Eckert and Cole Cramer shared third place.
Division 2
Jeremy Harbaugh and Jacob Casey finished tied at 84, forcing a sudden-death playoff. Harbaugh secured the win on the first extra hole with a par against Casey’s bogey. Newcomer Jake Hess took third place with an 89.
Division 3
Matt Collier waited in the clubhouse as Norman Springwater finished his round, but Springwater faltered on the back nine. Collier’s 88 held up to earn him his first Tulsa APT Golf victory. Springwater and Colton Gibson tied for second, two strokes back.
Division 4
Roger Dollins earned his second career Tulsa APT Golf win after defeating veteran Troy Smith in a playoff that extended two extra holes. Both players carded rounds of 90. Khurram Pervaiz finished third, four shots behind.
Division 5
Another newcomer, Maverick Morsey, became the third first-time winner of the day with a solid 95, finishing comfortably ahead of 2025 Division 5 Player of the Year Matt Salvo, who posted 100. Jerry Crabtree and Adam Hodge tied for third at 101.
Mid-Am Net
TJ Eckert (Division 1) added to his strong day by winning the Mid-Am Net title. His net 78 edged out Colton Gibson (Division 3) by one stroke.
Senior Net
Although Troy Smith fell short in his division playoff, he rebounded to claim the top spot in the Senior Net division. Roger Dollins finished second, with Kenneth Taylor taking third.
Special thanks go to Brian Montgomery and his staff for their hospitality in hosting the Tulsa APT Golf event.
The next event is the rescheduled tournament at Cherokee Springs Golf Club in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, set for Sunday the 26th, with tee times beginning at 10:00 a.m.
