30 players from 4 different chapters converged on the banks of the Tennessee River at the Harrison Bay State Park’s Bear Trace Golf Course on Saturday. There were several close division races including playoffs in Divisions 2 and 4. The day also included three first time winners.
Div 1- Tim Saunders continued his hot streak as he took home his 3rd victory in 8 days. Saunders had to come from behind as took the lead for the first time after his birdie on 16. Saunders finished the day at even par and won by 1 stroke over Ramsey Kimbrough.
Div 2- Like Saunders, Johnny Pierce also won his 3rd victory in 8 days. Pierce’s 36 on the back was good enough to get him in a playoff with Nashville’s John Bradshaw. Both shot 5 over 77s but it was Pierce winning on the first playoff hole.
Div 3- Jason Rogers was the 1st of the three first time winners. Rogers had 2 sub 40 sides in route to a 6 over 78 and took home the victory by 5 shots over Rick Collier.
Div 4- Marshall Taylor managed to take home his 1st ever trophy on Saturday. He shot his best round of the year, a 79, and still had to go into a playoff with Andrew Roskind. Taylor parred the par 4, 1st hole to earn the victory.
Div 5- Crossville’s Chip Kirkland won for the 1st time in his career after stringing together a couple of pars together on the inward 9. Kirkland managed to win by 3 strokes after a late push from Emmett Warner who finished 2nd.
