Our first tournament of the 2023 season proved to be a challenging one. The Golf Club of Dallas hosted what is now known as the Byron Nelson back in the 1950s and has a long-standing history. We put one in our books on Sunday, with some scores typically higher than usual and most fighting for the top to bring home the trophy.
In D1: Ray Smith - 71
Ray Smith battled with newcomer, Kaisone Chanthapanya, with the back nine scores determining who was actually going to take the trophy. Ray Smith prevailed and won 1st place scoring a +1, (71) and Kaisone took 2nd place with a score of +6 (76). Great battle round for these two.
In D2: Ray Dawson - 80
Our 2022 Player of the Year came in 1st place today. Ray Dawson scored an 80 leaving new member, Gabe Knight to take 2nd place.
In D3: Dennis Denoski - 84
We had a close race with Dennis Denoski taking home 1st place with an 84 to win by 1-stroke over Bobby Hart who took second place with an 85 and a tie breaker with Brian Downe who also had an 85 for the official third place position.
In D4: Vincent Albano - 90
Vincent came in 1st carding a 90 with Paul Turner just behind him scoring a 93 for 2nd place. On Paul’s heals, Adam Wright came in with a 94 for 3rd place.
