Div 1- Nathan Frazier’s 1st tournament on the APT was a good one. He made 3 birdies and managed to avoid any big numbers enroute to an 8-shot victory. Johnny Pierce finished 2nd with a 13-over par, 85.
Div2- It was 3-man race to the finished. Turtle Allison was the leader at the halfway mark but struggled down the stretch to finish 3rd. Gary Barrow and Allen Cox battled their way back to the top of the leaderboard on the closing nine. Barrow posted an 85 and waited for Cox. The two players were tied as Cox stepped up to the 18th tee. Cox’s approach found the green and managed to make the putt for the closing birdie and one-shot victory over Barrow.
Div3- Rickie Keyes used a strong opening nine to take home his first victory of the 2022-23 season. Danny Booth made a late charge but it was Keyes who brought the trophy home with a 12-over par, 84. Keyes ended up three shots clear of Booth.
Div4- Scott Heath suffered 2 triple bogeys in his round but they would not overshadow is 16 holes of consistent play. Besides the two hiccups on the scorecard, Heath made all pars and bogeys and shot 43 on both sides. His 86 was five shots better than Rob Luffman and Dale Dantzler’s 91s. Luffman and Dantzler tied for 2nd.
Div5- It was a long wait for Andrew Larsen but in the end, it was worth it. Larsen posted a 24-over, 96 an hour and half before the last group came in. When the dust settled, it was Larsen who was victorious as he managed to hold off a charging Dustin Fenker by one shot.
