The 2023 started out with a bang! We sold out our first event for the Carolina Coast Myrtle Beach Chapter. Thanks to Ryan and his staff at MBN Kings North course. We had originally booked with for 52 players and Ryan was able to increase both times I asked and we ended up with 68 players. We also had players visit from 11 APT Chapters from as far away as Iowa. Thanks to all that came. We knew it was going to be cold but had no idea that while we were setting up the course that it would start snowing. Yes I said snowing in Myrtle Beach. It was cold and then the wind picked up and playing Kings North in the wind makes for a long day. We were able to keep the Pace of Play just under 5 hrs, not to bad considering the weather and conditions. We also had outside play in front of us. We can still do better for sure. The prize fund was solid as well. We paid out a total of $3480 for this event. $1970 in gift cards was in the prize fund and $1510 was in Skins and Pins. We also had a 50/50 drawing and Travis Shively won $192 and Mark Stroupe won the APT Hat and Towel.

Coming off the 15th hole he had a 3 shot lead headed the #16. The 16th played difficult for John and Park and after he putted out on the 16th, the lead was only 2. Things got interesting coming down the stretch. After a triple on his 10th hole, Kevin made 4 pars on way in and after the dust settled Kevin and Jason were all tied up.
