Tournament Champions
Eighty players were in Gallatin at Tennessee Grasslands Links for prizes totaling over $4,500. The weather was a bit warm and stayed in the mid-90s the entire round. At least we did not have any rain for once!
In Division 1, Justin Lee from Lebanon capitalized on an even par back nine to score the one-stroke victory over Wesley Locke from Greenbrier and Ed McDugle from Memphis. Lee completed his round with a final score of +4 76 while Locke and McDugle finished at +5 77.
In Division 2, Troy Shedeed from Temecula, CA traveled cross-country on his day off to compete and win. Shedeed posted +3 75 to best Frankfort, KY resident, Robert Whittaker and Nashville’s Peyton Saxton by one stroke. Both Whittaker and Saxton finished at +4 76.
In Division 3, Nashville Chapter Co-Owner, Chris Guthrie and Jeff Hudgins from Smyrna finished tied at-the-top at +12 84. A playoff was needed to determine the champion where Guthrie secured his par on the par 4 1st hole to claim the win. Kenny Swann from Collierville finished two strokes back in 3rd place.
In Division 4, Mike Burnett from Murfreesboro cruised to victory, firing a +12 84, en route to a five-stroke win. Primm Springs’ Basil Hall finished in 2nd with his +17 89. Two-way tie for 3rd place between Joseph Hollis from Cynthiana, KY and Turner Holland from Southhaven, MS. Both posted rounds of +18 90.
In Division 5, David McDow from Lynnville captured his 2nd victory of the season with a splendid round of +15 87 to win by 8 strokes (!) over Franklin’s John Schirmer, who posted +23 95.
In Senior Net, Troy Shedeed wins by three strokes with NET one-under round of 71. Chris Guthrie and Mike Wilkins from Clarksville finish in a tie for 2nd with Net +2 74.

We are at the end of our 2023 schedule. Our local finals will be held at General’s Retreat in Hermitage on Saturday and Sunday, September 9-10th. Saturday tee times will begin at 11 am and Sunday’s tee times will start at 8 am. The tournament is open to members only. We will also crown our Players of the Year in each division and Senior Net.
