The Nashville Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour held its final tournament of the 2024 season at Greystone Golf Club this past weekend. 84 players finished the season and competed for over $6,500 of tournament prizes and optional side games.
Franklin’s Michael Cooper posts 2-under 70, highlighted by a hole-out eagle on the par 5 17th, to win by three strokes over Neil Master from Nashville and his 1-over 73. Ernest Rickey’s 2-over 74 was good enough to claim the 3rd place prize.
Jody Barrett from Dickson held on for the one-stroke victory with his 3-over round of 75. Clarksville’s Lee Busey had a chance on his final hole to push it a playoff. Busey finished the day at 4-over 76 to take 2nd place. Hendersonville’s Sonny Beachy fires a 5-over round of 77 to finish in solo 3rd and two other players, Columbia’s Will Norman and Murfreesboro’s Micheal Lynn, split the 4th place prize, finishing at 6-over 78.
Fresh off his promotion back in to Division 3, Thomas Jones wins the 1st place prize with his round of 8-over 80. Dickson’s Alex Richardson takes 2nd place finishing two-strokes back with his round of 10-over 82. Two players finished at 12-over 84 to split the 3rd and 4th place prize, Bryan Harwell from Lewisburg and David Smith from nearby Charlotte.
Paris’ Jason Bucher caps off a great season and scores his lowest round on-tour with his round of 5-over 77 to win going away. Three players finished in a tie for 2nd and split the combined 2nd and 3rd place prize, Columbia’s Joe Sins, Nolensville’s Wade Williams and Josh McPherson from Burns.
Bon Aqua’s Aaron Baggett posts 14-over 86 to clinch the 1st place prize over Charlotte’s Cole Smith, who finished at 19-over 91. Jimmy Murphy, also hailing from Charlotte, clinches 3rd place at 20-over 92.
Jason Bucher capitalizes on his splendid play to win the Open Net title with a net 65 over Aaron Baggett, who finished with a net 70.
Jody Barrett bested Neil Master by one stroke in the Senior Net competition. Barrett posts net 66 while Master finished behind by one with his net 67. Jimmy Murphy posts net 74 to capture 3rd place and Wade Williams takes 4th place with his net 75.
