Tournament Champions
The Nashville Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour held its latest tournament at one of the staple courses for our tour: Montgomery Bell Golf Course. Located in Burns, TN at the Montgomery Bell State Park, it is one of the state’s hidden gems. 101 players participated in the competition and had to play through poor weather conditions of rain and wind the entire round. Regardless of the conditions, there was plenty of great competition. Almost $4,400 in VISA Gift cards and just over $2,700 in optional side games.
In Division 1, the battle for 1st place was in the same pairing and needed two additional holes to crown the winner. Matt Mitchell from Burns prevailed in the playoff over Murfreesboro’s Craig Young. Both players ended their rounds tied at-the-top with 3-under rounds of 68. Mitchell scored a par on the par 4 11th hole for the win.
In Division 2, Chapel Hill’s Tim Ewing scores the one-stroke victory with his round of +6 77. Ewing had it going for 10 holes, scoring even par through that stretch. Matt Love from Greenbrier made it close at the end of his round, but bogeyed his final hole to finish at +7 78. Murfreesboro’s Chris Randolph takes home 3rd with his round of +9 80. Three contestants, Rockvale’s Shawn Coleman, Springfield’s Kelly Raglin and Smyrna’s Eric Fleming, finished in a tie for 4th place at +11 82.
In Division 3, Jason Massey from Mt. Juliet posts +10 81 to capture 1st place by two strokes over Spring Hill’s Todd Osinski, who finished at +12 83. Three contestants, Dickson’s Lowe Prescott, Columbia’s Sam Cook and Crossville’s Daniel England, finished in a tie for 3rd place at +13 84.
In Division 4, Madison Murphy from Charlotte scores the three-stroke victory with his round of +12 83. Primm Springs Basil Hall and William Kintzler from Lebanon finished tied for 2nd place at +15 86. Jason Bucher from Paris takes 4th place with his round of +16 87.
