Tournament Champions
Maryland held its ninth event of the 2024 season, an elevated two-days event at Queenstown Harbor Golf Course’s. 48 players joined us for two extremely hot and beautiful days on the water. Both days were difficult to deal with, high temperature reaching heat index of over 100. Second day, the wind was a factor for the players on a tight course. A Folds of Honor raffle was also conducted, this season we have raised over $350.
Division 1:
Four players for Division one played, Chris Meares from PA Chapter set the tone on day one, Chris shot a 73/78 to win by four over Ian Patterson from the Maryland Chapter.
Division 2:
18 players in Division two. After day one, seven players were two shots off the leader Jeff Dofflemyer. Day two, the winds and the heat were a factor. Rocky Dare from the PA Chapter held on to win by one. Austin Powers from the Maryland Chapter and Jason Tatum from Kansas City chapter came in second. Jason had the low round in the Division in day two with a 77.
Division 3:
13 Players in the field battle it out for the two days, Ian Farley from the PA Chapter fired a smooth 78 in the final round to win by three over Fred Levine a Virginia Capital player and Cassidy Salvador another PA Chapter player and Marco dela Cuesta a Maryland player came in third
Division 4:
Eight players in the Division battle it out for two days, Milton Rashid a Maryland player cruised to a five shot victory over Dave Funkhouser a Myrtle Beach Chapter player and Peter Witkowski a Maryland player round out the top three. Milton came to play, his steady play earned him another victory in the 2024 season.
Division 5:
Five Player in Division Five played, a playoff was needed to determine the winner between Elizabeth Massarin and Jordan Miller. Both players made bogie on hole one and pars on the second hole. Jordan got up and down for a bogy on the third hole to win the playoff. Jordan comes from the PA Chapter and Elizabeth was a Maryland player
Senior/Open Net:
The Senior Net went to Elizabeth Massarin and the Open Net was won by Cassidy Salvador
The winner of the Folds of Honor 50/50 raffle was won by Dave Ayars.
