Gary NivensWe had 48 players come to Salem Glen CC to compete for the first event of the calendar 2024. The conditions were very wet after the Friday rainstorm, but players managed to score well through it all. In Division 1 Kyle Moffett was able to hold on for the victory with a score of 75(+4). In 2nd place Park Williams. Williams was victorious in Senior Double Dip. In Division 2 we had the performance of the day from Juan Echeverri with a score of 73(+2). Echeverri was able to win by 5 shots over Scot Nichols. Nichols secured 2nd place in the open division and victorious in the Senior Division 2 Double Dip. In Division 3 the competition was very tight all the way to the end. Josh Ray was getting the victory by the slightest of margins. Ray scored an 83(+12) to hold Mitchell Long 84(+13). Micheal Fitzgerald was the Senior Double Dip winner. In Division 4 we had a playoff between Joey Fyall and Gary Nivens with a score of 89(+18). The players took off to hole 1 and Nivens secured the victory after hole 1. In Division 5 we had 2023 POY secure the victory in her hometown of Winston-Salem. Rivia Brown shot 92(+21) to win by 3 shots. Brown also secured the victory for Senior Double Dip. Up next Pine Knolls Golf Club 3.23.24
