2024 Houston APT at Wildcat Golf Club
The Houston APT Tour’s 7th event of the year at Wildcat was a hot one. With temperatures reaching 95 degrees, it was one of the elements all 5 divisions had to keep in the forefront during play.
In Division 1, Walker Toomes with an eagle and a birdie, shot even par on the front nine with Jared Marusic a close second with a +2(38). Adding another birdie on 10, Walker cruised to victory with a +2(38) on the back nine for an overall score of +2(74).
Division 2 saw James Michalsky shoot +2(38) to take a 3-shot lead over both Taylor Richardson and Brian Thomas coming off the front nine. Brian Thomas shot a solid +3(39) on the back nine to take the win by one shot +8(80).
Division 3 had a close race between Alvin Miles shooting a +6(42) and James Medina one shot back at +7(43) at the turn. Alvin repeated his front nine score +6(42) to give him the victory by 3 strokes +12(84).
Division 4 was a competitive match between John Sparks and Carolina Ackerman. John shot +7(43) with Carolina shooting +10(46) three shots back. John shot a +7(86) on the back nine to bring home his second victory in a row 14(86).
Division 5 had a strong showing from Ricardo Ramirez shooting a +9(45) with Rick Pritchard close behind with a +14(50) coming off the front nine. Ricardo held on to win by 4 strokes with a +24(96).
The Senior Net game was won by Brian Thomas with even par (72) while John Sparks took 2nd place with a +3 (75).
