2024 Houston APT at Windrose Golf Club

Houston APT’s third event was anticipated to be stormy, but the weather held up until the final hour of the tournament. Members are now hopeful that rainy days are a thing of the past as they eagerly await drier events in the coming months.

In Division 1, a tight competition unfolded with James Michalsky initially leading alongside returning member Sean Bohn. However, in his first event of 2024, Milo Henson secured first place with two birdies on the back nine with a +2 (74) and edging out Sean Bohn with one stroke at +3 (75).

Division 2 saw a close competition between Jason Hawthorne and Darien Duhon. Hawthorne clinched the victory for the second consecutive tournament with a +4 (76), thanks to three birdies, narrowly beating Duhon by one stroke at +5 (77).

Division 3 featured a tense match between Tanner Gray and the previous week’s champion, Jack Anderson. With the score tied at hole 16, Anderson narrowly outscored Gray by one stroke, securing his second consecutive victory with a score of 84.

In Division 4, Ellis Flores made a solitary birdie on the front nine, posting a strong score of 40 and taking a two-shot lead over Alvin Miles at the halfway mark. Flores secured the win by one stroke with a late birdie on the 17th, finishing at +9 (81).

Robert Vespa, a two-time winner in Division 5, claimed his third tournament victory. Despite being behind by three shots, Vespa managed to secure the win by shooting 92.

In the Senior Net competition, Darien Duhon emerged as a first-time winner with a remarkable -2 score (70), the only one in red numbers. Jack Anderson secured second place with a +1 score (73).

Our upcoming elevated event of the season will take place at The Wilderness in Lake Jackson. Known for its excellent condition, this course is a favorite among participants.

Don’t forget to register early as the deadline is May 4th. Congratulations to all the winners once again!
