The Atlanta Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour recently played at Canongate Golf Club in Sharpsburg, GA. Players were treated to perfect weather and cooler weather for June 1.

In Division 1, three different players were close to the lead. James Davis coming off a birdie on the 16th hole, pulled his tee shot into the left greenside bunker. James ultimately made a double bogey that opened the door for Kent Strickland and Charles Hartley.  James settled down and made a par on the last hole, forcing Kent and Charles to need to birdie the last. James ended up being victorious. James was awarded the trophy and the $190 prize pool.

In Division 2, two players rose to the top of the leaderboard. Jayden Bevillard and Sean Pierce traded punches all round and the deciding factor was a tee shot that went out of bounds for Sean. That ended up giving Jayden a one-shot victory, posting a round of 72 (E). Jayden was awarded the trophy and $230 in prize money.

In Division 3, Steve Sommers played steadily all day long and kept the big numbers off the card. Steve posted a score of 82 (+10) to secure a one-shot victory over Cesar Rojas. The pivoting point in the event was the lone double bogey on the seventh hole by Cesar. Steve was awarded the trophy and $180 in prizes.

Division 4 was a tale of two nines as Nicholas Gaston and Philip Hoang locked in on a battle for the win. Philip made the turn in the lead, but Nicholas turned the heat up on the back nine. Nicholas played the final nine in forty strokes to score a two-shot victory over Philip. Nicholas was awarded the trophy and the $169 in prizes.

In Division 5, every player in the field held the lead at one point during the event. Standing on the 18th tee, there were multiple players that still had a chance at winning. Mitchell McDannald was able to secure the one shot victory over the rest of the field. Mitch was awarded the trophy and the $169 in prizes.
