Tournament Champions
Iron Valley Golf Club offers a serious challenge, with numerous factors to consider on every hole. The back nine features slanted fairways that test your footing and a deep quarry ready to claim any errant ball. The par-5s on holes 7 and 13 present true risk-versus-reward opportunities for every competitor stepping onto the tee box.
Division 1
Two players battled for the Division 1 trophy on Saturday: Tanner Fackler of Harrisburg, PA, and Tyler Cottle of Manheim, PA. Fackler maintained a one-stroke lead through the front nine and kept the pressure on during the back nine to secure a two-stroke victory. Final scores: Fackler – 81, Cottle – 83.
Division 2
The Division 2 field featured three players: Jason Stoltzfus (Leola, PA), Joshua Kellerman (Shippensburg, PA), and Jim Baugher (Smith Mountain Lake, VA). After 18 tightly contested holes, Stoltzfus and Kellerman were tied at 86, forcing a sudden-death playoff. On hole 1, both players hit solid drives and tied the hole. The match was decided on hole 2, where Stoltzfus remained composed and claimed victory with two quality shots and a steady two-putt par.
Division 3
Michael Shaw of Fredericksburg, VA, led the way with a stellar 82, anchored by seven pars on the back nine to close out his round. John Friedman (Dillsburg, PA) and Trevor Pieh (Somerville, NJ) tied for second with scores of 85. Pieh also earned two Super Skins and two Division Skins.
Division 4
The 11-player Division 4 field delivered an exciting finish, with three players separated by just one stroke. Barry Myers of Newville, PA, shot an exceptional 87—his first win of the season. His round included six pars and a birdie on the par-3 12th hole. Enrique Young finished second with an 88, and J.P. Perron took third with a solid 89.
Division 5
Five players competed in Division 5, and when the dust settled, a tie emerged between two Shippensburg locals—Tyler Varner and Aaron Davis—both finishing with a 98. In sudden-death on hole 1, Varner hit a strong drive down the center and secured the win with a one-stroke advantage, taking home the trophy, points, and purse. Thomas Kroh (New Cumberland, PA) placed third.
Open Net
Nine players under the age of 50 entered the Open Net competition. Nikalas Gregg took the top spot with a net score of two under (70), earning the trophy, points, and prize money. Michael Shaw followed in second at +1 (73), and Jason Stoltzfus claimed third with a 74.
Senior Net
Ten players competed in the Senior Net division (ages 50+). Barry Myers won first place with a net score of -1 (71). J.P. Perron came in second with an even-par 72, while John Friedman finished third at +3 (75).
