Tournament Champions
The Columbus Amateur Players Tour held an event today on Monday, June 2nd at the beautiful Mt Vernon Country Club, the 1915 private course is one of the true gems of Central Ohio.
The Columbus Amateur Players Tour travels the greater central Ohio area, offering golfers of all skill levels a chance to compete in one of ten different divisions.
The tour is designed by the players, for the players, as cash and VISA gift card prizes are awarded each week, along with an optional cash skins game.
Here’s a breakdown of the results from Mondays tournament by division.
Open
D1
Troy Boswell how on for a two-stroke victory over Reese Thaler from Columbus, Ohio, making his tour debut. With Powell, Ohio resident Cliff Bostrom rounding out the top three.
D2
Britt Lilley of Amherst, Ohio made his APT tour debut a memorable one holding onto a one shot victory over Brian Keene of Lake Forest, California with both Rick, Williamson of Wayne, OHIO and Steve Phillips of Caroll Ohio in a tie for 3rd place

Thomas Clayton Franklin, Ohio, not his third tour victory of the year, holding off Frank Machesky, of Jackson, Ohio who was recently promoted from division 4 with both Keith Fisher of Columbus, Ohio and Mark Broom of Byesville Ohio in a tie for 3rd place

Canal Winchester native Van Rome, who has been knocking on the door of the winter circle each tournament. He’s played this year finally notched hos first tour victory by 3 strokes over Chris Berry of Carroll Ohio & Robert Lawless of Pickerington

Came down to the 18th hole and John Lint of West Lafayette, Ohiowho had a one shot lead going into the final hole found some trouble on number 18 to give Patrick Scorzelli who was making his APT debut and give the Dublin Ohio native the victory.

Rick Williamson of Wayne, Ohio and Don Dawson of Reynoldsburg Ohio who who competed against each other week in and week out on the APT tour this time Rick getting the better of Don by for the Victory

Frank Machesky of Jackson, OH making his D3 debut held onto a one shot victory over Mark Broom of Byesville Ohio

Van Rome went home double fisted winning the open and the senior division with Robert Lawless of Pickerington finishing 2nd

Saw West Lafayette, Ohio’s John Lint getting his picture taken with the trophy
