2025 COL Virtues Golf Club Tournament Results

Columbus APT Recap – Virtues Golf Club (May 4, 2025) 

The Columbus Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour hosted its latest event on Sunday, May 4, at the prestigious Virtues Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio—widely regarded as #1 

public courses in the state. Heavy rain on Friday and Saturday created challenging conditions for Sunday’s afternoon tee times, but the field rose to the occasion. Below are the tournament results: 

Division 1 (Open): 

John Fryman (Westerville, OH) secured the victory with a clutch birdie on the 18th hole, carding a 76—one shot ahead of Jonathan Oliver (Granville, OH). Troy Boswell rounded out the top three with a 78. 

Division 2 (Open): 

Thaddeus Smith (Chillicothe, OH) led from start to finish, capturing a two-shot win over Steve Phillips (Carroll, OH). Jason Fisher (Chillicothe, OH) and Cordelle Yoder (Millersburg, OH) shared third place at +11. 

Division 3 (Open): 

Rain shortened play to 17 holes, resulting in a scorecard playoff between Evan Yoder (Navarre, OH), Clay Hummel (Millersburg, OH), and Tom McNerlin (Oak Hill, OH). Evan Yoder emerged victorious in the tiebreaker. 

Division 4 (Open): 

With play cut to 15 holes due to weather, Bruce Myers (South Charleston, WV) edged out Jason Miller (Millersburg, OH) in a scorecard playoff. Chris Berry finished in third. 

Division 5 (Open): 

In another rain-shortened 15-hole finish, Ryan Darling (Delaware, OH) earned his first tour win, outlasting Chuck Falter (Gahanna, OH). Nick Cushing (Bellevue, KY) claimed third place. 

Senior Division Winners: 

• D2: Michael Marinangeli (Grove City, OH) 

• D3: Jason Wright (Oak Hill, OH) 

• D4: Bruce Myers (South Charleston, WV) 

• D5: Chuck Falter (Gahanna, OH)
