Tournament Champions
August 24, 2025 | Chapel Hill Golf Course, Mt. Vernon, OH
The Columbus Amateur Players Tour hosted 38 golfers on a picture-perfect Sunday at Chapel Hill Golf Course. The course played fast and true, rewarding solid ball-striking and testing the field across rolling terrain and quick greens. With five Open divisions and four Senior divisions in action, trophies, cash prizes, and valuable Player of the Year points were all on the line.

Open Division Results
Division 1
It was all John Fryman (Westerville, OH) on this day. Fryman came out firing and never let off the gas, carding a brilliant 4-under 68 to separate himself from the field. Jason Lanning (Delaware, OH) posted a steady even-par 72 to claim runner-up honors, while Chris Ice (Barnesville, OH) rounded out the podium with a +3 (75) after a gritty back nine.
Division 2
The Division 2 battle came down to consistency, and Jesse Vanvleet (Jeffersonville, IN / Kentucky Chapter) delivered. Vanvleet’s composed 77 was enough to secure the win, two strokes clear of Rob Braun (Alexandria, KY), who took home second. Rick Williamson (Wayne, OH) battled hard and posted an 82 to finish in third place.
Division 3
This division produced some of the best golf of the day, with multiple players turning in their lowest rounds of the season. Merlin Yoder (Dalton, OH) was superb, firing a rock-solid 74 (+2) to earn his third victory of the year. Just one shot back, Michael Bruesch (Newark, OH) and Don Dawson (Reynoldsburg, OH) both turned in clutch 75s, proving D3 is as competitive as ever.
Division 4
Division 4 showcased big improvements, with two players setting personal bests. Van Rome (Canal Winchester, OH) edged out the win with a strong 81, his best round of the year. Right behind him was Chris Berry (Carroll, OH), who also found his groove and finished just one stroke back at 82. Dan Campbell (Marengo, OH) claimed third place with a hard-earned 87.
Division 5
The story of the day came in Division 5, where Quinntin White broke through for his first APT victory. White not only claimed the win but did it with authority, shooting his lowest score of the season — a determined 86. John Lint (West Lafayette, OH), the current D5 Player of the Year leader, posted a 91 for second place, while Leah Sonego (Medina, OH) battled her way into third with a 95.

Senior Division Winners
The Senior side saw steady, composed play, with familiar names rising to the top:
- Division 2 – Rick Williamson (Wayne, OH): Captured the Senior D2 title with strong course management.
- Division 3 – Don Dawson (Reynoldsburg, OH): Earned the Senior D3 crown, capping off his day with poise.
