The Florida Gulf Coast Chapter had an incredible time this weekend at the Cypress Bend course of Craft Farms in Gulf Shores, AL. Rated 4 1/2 stars by Golf Digest and designed by the legendary Arnold Palmer, the course offered a perfect mix of natural beauty and strategic challenges. With wide fairways and large, undulating greens, the course provided a true test of skill. The weather was ideal, with temperatures climbing into the low 60s, making for a beautiful day of golf.
Nine players participated in the Stableford event, and the competition came down to a thrilling finish between Brent Harmes of South Dakota and John Lenz of Alabama. Brent closed the deal with two eagles in the final five holes, completing his impressive performance of five birdies and two eagles during the round. John Lenz also had a solid showing, carding five birdies, but it was Brent who ultimately emerged victorious in this exciting contest.
