2025 Florida Southwest River Hall Country Club Tournament Results

It was a bright, sunny, Florida morning on Saturday, August 9 at River Hall Country Club, and the Florida – Southwest chapter held their 11^th event of the 2025 season!  It was a smaller field, but everyone there was excited to play the challenging course for the day.  Highlights of the day included: 

• Division 1: Gage Basiletti continued his good play on the front nine with an even par 36 and a one-shot lead over Brandon Collier and 2 over Matt Ross and Matt Yost.  Ross would card a -1 (35) on the back to finish at 1 over par tied with Collier who was even on the back.  It was not enough, however, as Basiletti would shoot -2 (34) on the back to finish the day at -2 (70) and the win! 

• Division 2: Nick Westbrook would post a +2 (38) on the front to take a 2-shot lead over Daren Green, and 3 over Eric Thumm.  On the back, Green would repeat his front 9 with a +4 (40) on the back for an 80.  Westbrook would only give back 1 shot of his 2-shot lead at the turn and take home the win with a 79.   

• Division 3: On the front nine, Paul DiCaprio would jump out to a 6-shot lead firing a +3 (39)!  Nathan Royse would find his game and posted a +4 (40) on the back to gain on DiCaprio.  However, Royse would come up a couple short, and DiCaprio captured his first win in D3 for the season!   

• Division 4: Andy Halek fired a +4 (40 on the front nine and a 3-shot lead over John Moore.  Moore remained consistent on the back with another 43 while Halek stumbled to a 46 which gave us our first tie and a playoff of the day.  Halek, fresh off a playoff win the week before carded a bogey on the first hole, and when Moore parred the hole, he took home the win.   

• Division 5: This one was exciting and close the whole way!  Greg Gastfield, Dave Densieski, and Quinton Allen all fired 46s on the front to take the early lead.  On the back, Densieski and Gastfield would exchange the lead with one another several times, with Allen right behind.  In the end, Gastfield and Densieski tied, and we were off to our second playoff of the day!  This one could not be decided on the first hole, but on the second hole, Gastfield prevailed sinking a short putt and the 1-stroke victory!   

• Senior Net: 8 out of the 13 eligible players participated in the Senior Net game, and Halek got some revenge on Moore taking the Senior Net with an even par 72!  One shot behind in second was Mark Howard at +1
