Tournament Champions
The Kentucky Amateur Players Tour recently hosted its third stop of the 2025 tour season at Frankfort Country Club in Frankfort, Kentucky. Known for its challenging course and stunning scenery, Frankfort Country Club remains a favorite among both chapters’ players.
In an exhilarating conclusion to the Division One championship, returning champion Brian Polick triumphed once again, securing his title for the second consecutive year. Both Polick and Josh Earnest concluded their rounds with scores of 2 over 74, leading to a sudden death playoff to determine the victor. Fortune favored Polick when Earnest’s tee shot veered right, striking a tree and resulting in a bogey. In contrast, Polick maintained composure under pressure, capitalizing on Earnest’s misstep to clinch the win.
Michael Hall took third in Division One with a round of 76.
Andrew Colbert, a rookie on the tour, made a memorable impression by clinching a victory in Division Two with a commendable round of 77. His performance was highlighted by an impressive recovery shot from behind a tree on the 18th hole, which ultimately secured him a one-shot lead over Taylor Fry. Meanwhile, in Division One, seasoned tour veteran Barry Rahn demonstrated his enduring skill with a solid round of 80, earning him a respectable third-place finish.
In Division Three, Kyrie Dickenson and Dan Teeter found themselves tied at 86 after completing their rounds, with half of the field still playing. As the remaining players finished, the scores held, resulting in a tie for first place between Dickenson and Teeter. To determine the winner, they faced off in a sudden death playoff. Dickenson emerged victorious when Teeter’s putter faltered, leading to a costly triple bogey. Meanwhile, Gregg Goff and Dave Stewart finished tied for third place with rounds of 87.
Jason Earnest round of 89 held up in Division Four to secure him his first win on the Kentucky Amateur Players tour by one shot over Dick Brown who shot 90 and Jon Smith who shot 92.
Division Five also crowned a first-time winner when Charles Jason shot a round of 88 to run away with the Division. Kevin Bennet took second with a round of 95 floowed by James Enriquez at 98.
