Henry Horton hosted the Nashville Chapter’s first event of 2025.  136 players, split by division over Saturday and Sunday, competed across 5 divisions for a total prize pool totaling just over $4,000 and side games totaling over $3,600. We experienced cold temps both days, but no weather delays and we were able to get all groups finished with their rounds in a reasonable about of time and well before dark.

In Division 1, for the 2nd season in-a-row, the par 5 18th hole determined the winner. Tennessee East’s Matt Crowder started the 18th one back of the lead and proceeds to stuff a 3 wood to 3 feet on the 18th green and makes the eagle putt to leapfrog to the top of the leaderboard and capture the win. Matt finished his round with a +1 73. Justin Lee, who made birdie on the 18th to briefly grab the lead, finished in 2nd place with his round of +2 74.  A host of three players finished at +3 75 and in a tie for 3rd place: Austin Vasquez, Craig Young and Dakota Woodcock.

In Division 2, new member Charles Hammer scores the three-stroke victory over the 39 player field with his round of +4 76. Three players finished at +7 to finish in 3rd: Kevin Ingram, Eric Soloway and 2024 Henry Horton champion from the Kentucky chapter, Kevin Hoffmann. Jerry Ferguson posts +8 80 to take 6th place and 3 players finish in a 7th place tie with +9 81: Travis Reaves, Chris Randolph and Micheal Lynn.

Guest Jonathon Newman did post the lowest round of the division with his round of +3 75.  By rule, guests, except for Division 1, are limited to winning their membership ($135).  A guest is eligible to win the trophy, if they shoot a score differential within their division range (i.e Division 2 scores – 3.5-8.4).

In Division 3, was another 39 player field.  Madison Murphy made the turn at even par and finished his round with + 79 to score the win by four strokes.  In a tie for 2nd, TJ Tidwell and Kris Collett finished at +9 81.  4 other players finished in a 4th place tie with their rounds of +12 84: Bryan Harwell, James Newkirk, Ronnie Thornton and Andrew Graham.

In Division 4, Dusty Nowlin outlasted the field and scored the one-stroke victory over David Smith. Nowlin finished his day at +14 86 and Smith takes 2nd place with his +15 87. Raul Gallegos takes home 3rd place with his +17 89 and Cody Ray finishes in 4th place with +18 90.

In Division 5, Cole Smith snags a three-stroke victory with his +17 89.  Coming in 2nd place was Aaron Hobbs with +20 92 and in a 3rd place tie was Jim Rutherford and Brett Bartholemew with their rounds of +22 94.
