The Amateur Players Tour-Birmingham hosted a full field at the local favorite, Horse Creek Golf Course, in Dora, Alabama. Players battled it out for nearly $3000 in total prizes.

In Division 1, Lamar Adams made the turn trailing by two shots. On the back side, Lamar posted the best score to ease into a two-shot victory with a 76 (+4). John Love secured second place with a 78 (+6). Lamar was awarded the trophy and $190 in prize money. In the Open Net Contest, Kevin Schrum posted a net score of 76 (+4) to take the Open Net victory.

In Division 2, Brad Wahl stepped on 18th tee with a three shot lead. After errant shots coming in, Brad was able to drain a five-footer to secure the victory with a score of 81 (+9). Chris Randolph placed second with a score of 82 (+10). Brad was awarded the trophy and $230 in prize money.

In Division 3, 18 holes wasn’t enough to determine a winner. Greg Mason and Ryan Summerfield both posted a score of 81 (+9) to earn a spot in the playoff. After both tying the first two playoff holes, Greg used a miraculous up and down to save par to clinch the victory. Greg was also crowned the Senior Net winner with a net score of 73 (+1). Greg was awarded trophies for both victories and $460 in total prizes.

The Division 4 winner, Brian Sanders went out in the first group of Division 4 and posted a score of 86 (+14). After late round struggles for Terry Hodge, Brian ended up with a four shot victory. The highlight of the round for Brian was a hole our eagle on the Par 4, 4th hole from 105 yards. Brain was awarded the trophy and a total of $310 in total prize money. Brian also finished solo 2nd in Senior Net.

David Mcdow, Division 5 winner, was able to limit major mistakes down the stretch to cruise to a two shot victory over Leon Goodson. David posted a score of 96 (+24) to outlast the field in tough scoring conditions. David earned the trophy and $180 in total prize money.

Next up for the Birmingham Chapter is the fall finale at The Robert Trent Jones Trail at Oxmoor Valley on Dec 15. The field is limited to 40 players and spots are filling up fast.
