On Saturday, August 16, players braved the sweltering Mississippi heat at Kirkwood National in Holly Springs, MS, where soaring temperatures and a demanding layout tested every part of their games. The rolling fairways and tricky greens of Kirkwood National proved to be a true challenge, rewarding patience and precision while punishing even the slightest mistakes. Despite the tough conditions, competitors across all five divisions battled hard, producing gritty performances and crowning champions who rose to the occasion.

Division 1: McDugle Proves Why He’s the Standard
Edward McDugle once again showed why he’s one of the most consistent competitors on tour. Firing a steady round of 75 (+3), McDugle captured the win and took home 375 points. Luke Smith stayed in the hunt with a solid 77 (+5) to claim second, while Jeff Dickey rounded out the top three with a 79 (+7). Zachary Schopp (Hernando, MS) and Jared Harding (Collierville, TN) followed in fourth and fifth with rounds of 81 and 91, respectively.

Division 2: Averett Breaks Away
Ronnie Averett (Loranger, LA) put together the winning formula in Division 2, carding an impressive 81 (+9) to take first place. His steady play earned him 230 points, well ahead of the field. Tommy Warren finished second at +11, while Rich Busby took third with a +14. Rounding out the division were Andrew Walkley (+15), William Morris (+16), and Kevin Connolly (+19), who all battled the challenging setup.

Division 3: Grisham Controls the Field
Ken Grisham turned in the low round of Division 3, posting an 84 (+12) to win by four strokes. Marshall Dean and Jon Sylvester shared runner-up honors at +16, each finishing with 88s. Mark Taylor (+17) and Hayden Benard (+18) followed closely, while a tightly bunched group including Iceman Clark and Kyle Kucharski (+19) kept the leaderboard crowded. In the end, Grisham’s consistency separated him from the rest.

Division 4: Ervin Runs Away with It
Darrel Ervin dominated Division 4, shooting an 86 (+14) to win by eight shots. Herman Bell (McCalla, AL) came closest with a 94 (+22), good for second place. Chris Jones rounded out the podium at +26, while Ken Pieczonka (+29) and Vince Vaghela (+30) trailed behind. The field saw tough scoring conditions, but Ervin managed them best for a convincing victory.

Division 5: Walkley Edges the Field
Steven Walkley captured Division 5 with a determined 93 (+21), holding off the field to win by 10 shots. His victory earned him 40 points. Gregg Epps and Cody Doles (Winfield, AL) shared second place at +31, both carding rounds of 103. Aaron Little (+37) and Rozell Henderson (+40) rounded out the leaderboard.

Final Thoughts
