    APT Memphis Chapter Wraps Up 2025 Season with Finals and Player of the Year Honors 

    The Amateur Players Tour Memphis Chapter concluded its 2025 local season with a competitive final event that saw players battle for critical points and bragging rights. With division titles on the line and the Player of the Year race coming to a close, the season ended with plenty of excitement across all five divisions.

    Division 1 – Dickey’s Victory, McDugle’s Season 

    In the final event, Jeff Dickey of Hernando, MS fired an impressive even-par 72 to take the win and 1,000 points. He edged out Edward McDugle, who carded a +2 (74) to secure second place. Despite finishing runner-up in the tournament, McDugle’s consistency all season long paid off. 

    • Player of the Year: Edward McDugle (Memphis, TN) dominated Division 1, collecting 3,685 points across 11 events. His steady play and multiple wins cemented him as the top competitor, with Dickey (1,815 points) and Jordan Jones (1,805 points) following behind.

    Division 2 – Lewis Takes the Finale, Avant Rules the Season 

    The Division 2 finale was captured by Sammie Lewis (Memphis, TN), who posted 83 (+11) to outpace Fidel Diaz and William Morris. Lewis’s late-season win showed he’s a rising contender. 

    • Player of the Year: The season crown, however, belonged to Jeff Avant (Eads, TN), who posted a remarkable 1,547.7 points over nine events. Avant’s consistent finishes and depth of play kept him atop the standings ahead of Tommy Warren (1,282.26 points) and Fidel Diaz (1,152.88 points).

    Division 3 – Frogge Wins the Day, Clark Claims the Year 

    William Frogge (Collierville, TN) came through in the final tournament with an 86 (+14) to earn first place. Close behind was Jon Sylvester (+16) and Marshall Dean (+18). 

    • Player of the Year: Iceman Clark (Bartlett, TN) capped a stellar season with 913.8 points across eight events, edging Jon Sylvester (873 points) and Kyle Kucharski (824.1 points). Clark’s consistency and determination all season long made him the class of Division 3.

    Division 4 – Alexander Finishes Strong, Ervin Stands Tall Overall 

    In Division 4, Cale Alexander (Hernando, MS) finished the season finale with an 85 (+13) to take first place. He was trailed by Ronald Porter Sr. and Darrel Ervin, who both had solid outings. 

    • Player of the Year: Despite not winning the finale, Darrel Ervin (Cordova, TN) took the season-long honors with 614.1 points over 11 events. Alexander finished second overall with 437.5 points, and Nate Guyton rounded out the top three with 356.71 points.

    Division 5 – Walkley Ends on Top, Kelly Captures Season Title 

    The Division 5 finale saw Steven Walkley (Millington, TN) shoot 91 (+19) to grab the win, finishing ahead of Jim Haslauer and Michael Kelly. 

    • Player of the Year: Michael Kelly (Nesbit, MS) claimed the season crown, tallying 200.5 points across six events. Walkley’s late push moved him into second with 157.5 points, while Trey Horrell (118.5 points) finished third.

    Closing Thoughts 

    The 2025 APT Memphis Chapter season showcased the best of competitive golf — determination, camaraderie, and the grind of chasing every point. From McDugle’s dominance in Division 1 to Kelly’s steady rise in Division 5, each Player of the Year represents the commitment it takes to compete at the top of their division. 

    As the chapter now turns its attention to the North American and Senior North American Championships, Memphis golfers have proven they’re ready to take their games to the national stage.
