🏆 2025 APT Minneapolis Tour Finals Recap

The Links at Northfork | Ramsey, MN
    Sunday, August 31, 2025

The 2025 season came to a thrilling conclusion at The Links at Northfork, where the APT Minneapolis Chapter hosted its Tour Finals under pristine skies and peak course conditions. With sunshine, fast greens, and calm late-summer air, players across all divisions battled not just for a tournament win — but for Player of the Year honors in one of the most competitive seasons to date.

    🥇 Division 1 – Stepan’s Long-Awaited Victory

    Winner: Leo Stepan (+11, 83)
Leo Stepan broke through for his first Division 1 victory, carding a gutsy +11 (83). His round featured three birdies and a clutch finish of back-to-back pars to seal the win. Stepan also dominated the Closest to the Pin contest, sticking a beauty to 7’9” and walking away with a $220 prize to cap off a career-defining day.

    Runner-up: Eric Means (+13, 85)
Third Place: Brett Mathiowetz (+15, 87)

🏆 D1 Player of the Year: Brett Mathiowetz
Mathiowetz’s consistency was unmatched in 2025, tallying four wins and leading from the front all season long. His steady performance earned him the Division 1 Player of the Year trophy — and a ticket to the APT North American Championship in Florida. We wish Brett the best as he represents Minneapolis on the national stage!

🥇 Division 2 – Wilczynski Sweeps the Season

    Winner: Brad Wilczynski (+10, 82)
Brad Wilczynski proved untouchable in Division 2, claiming his fourth win in four starts with a sharp +10 (82). A birdie and matching 41s on both nines highlighted his consistent, no-mistakes approach. Wilczynski’s dominance made him the clear-cut Division 2 Player of the Year.

    Runner-up: Nicholas Mathews (+15, 87)
Third Place: Mark Piersak (+18, 90)

🏆 D2 Player of the Year: Brad Wilczynski
Brad’s undefeated streak in 2025 was nothing short of impressive, showcasing laser-focused play and competitive excellence in every appearance.

🥇 Division 3 – Van Spankeren Posts Round of the Day

Winner: Mike Van Spankeren (+9, 81)
Chapter Director Mike Van Spankeren saved his best for last, delivering a tournament-low +9 (81) to earn his third victory of the season. Van Spankeren rode a hot putter and pinpoint driving to three birdies, closing with strategic bogeys after building a comfortable lead.

    Runner-up: Donald Scott (+18, 90)
Third Place: Austin Semen (+20, 92)

🏆 D3 Player of the Year: Donald Scott
A model of consistency, Donald Scott tallied four wins throughout the season and narrowly missed a fifth in a playoff. His sportsmanship and steady presence made him a standout throughout the year.

🥇 Division 4 – Tidd Cements His Legacy

    Winner: Michael Tidd (+14, 86)
Tidd turned a slow start into a statement finish, firing a steady +14 (86) to claim the Division 4 title. He overcame early struggles with strong mental composure and tactical play.
