APT Nashville made its first-ever visit to Bluegrass Yacht and Country Club in Hendersonville where our one-day elevated event was held. Player of the Year points were doubled and our prize pool per player was increased to $40. Lots on the line as far as payouts and competing for our end of season Player of the Year honors in each division and net contests.  Players sweltered under the characteristic heat of late July. With temperatures soaring into the high 90s and humidity, playing conditions were intense. The players were treated to good playing condition and we were able to play “down” for the 1st time this season. Over $4,000 was paid out to our highest finishers in our division and net competitions, in addition to, almost $2,000 paid out in division and super skins games, closest-to-the-pins and net fourball competitions.

In Division 1, Scotsville, KY’s Dakota Woodcock held off Hendersonville local, Austin Vasquez by one stroke to claim the 1st place prize and trophy. Woodcock finished the round with 2 birdies and a score of +1 73. Vasquez finished the day with +2 72 while posting 3 birdies.

In Division 2, Mufreesboro’s Micheal Lynn squeaks out the one-stroke victory over Gallatin’s JP Courtney. Courtney held the lead for a good portion of the round, but surrendered the lead on his next to the last hole of his round. Lynn scored 3 birdies and posts 1-over 73 while Courtney finishes at +2 74.  Hendersonville’s David McIlwain posted a solid round of 3-over 75 to claim 3rd and Gallatin’s Todd Schrock takes home 4th place with a round of 4-over 76.

In Division 3, Brentwood’s James Newkirk played steady all round with only one major hiccup to snag a one-stroke win over Nashville’s Vince Callendar and Winchester’s Laine Hairell. Newkirk’s 3 birdies paved the way to his +5 round of 77. Both Callender and Hairell finished their rounds with 2 birdies and rounds of 6-over 78. Brentwood’s Will Houston and Ashland City’s Alex Richardson split the 4th place prize with their rounds of 8-over 80.

In Division 4, Hendersonville’s Jason Hinton posts a wonderful round of 7-over 79 to win by 4 over Nolensville’s Wade Williams, who finished at 11-over 83.  Nolensville’s Stephen Geltch and Chapel Hill’s Dusty Nowlin both finish the round at +13 85 to split the 3rd place prize.

In Division 5, Old Hickory’s Tyler Laney lapped the field with his splendid round of 10-over 82 sturdied by 12 pars! Second place prize went to Brentwood’s Rachel Guthrie and her round of 13-over 85.

In Open Net, Division 4’s Jason Hinton makes good on his win to also take the open net game by 3 strokes over Dickson’s Todd Choate and Lebanon’s Kevin Smith.

In Senior Net, Division 5’s Rachel Guthrie makes it two-in-a-row in Senior Net with a 3 stroke win over Division 3’s James Newkirk.  3rd place went to Division 4’s Wade Williams and 4th place goes to Memphis Chapter’s Michael Kelly.
