Tournament Champions
APT Nashville returned to Old Fort Golf Club in Murfreesboro for its 2nd trip around in the 2025 season. It was a classic late summer day with temps in the 90s with sticky, humid conditions typical of early August in Tennessee. We thank the team at Old Fort for the excellent playing conditions of the course and friendliness of the staff. Over $4,000 was paid out to our highest finishers in our division and net competitions, in addition to, over $2,500 paid out in skins games, closest-to-the-pin & net fourball competitions.
In Division 1, Franklin’s Drew Taylor posted three-under 69, the low round of the tournament, to best Winchester’s Nathan Calahan by one stroke. Both players were in the same pairing and knew where they stood during the round. The tournament hinged on the par 3 17th was the lead flip-flopped with Taylor’s birdie and Calahan’s bogey.
In Division 2, Murfreesboro’s Michael Osborne had a splendid round, firing a one-under round of 71 to win by 2 over Smyrna’s Greg Wyatt and his round of one-over 73. Taking 3rd place is Christiana’s John Hipp with a three-over round of 75. 3 players finished in a tie for 4th place: Murfreesboro’s Micheal Lynn, Craig Ketelsen, also from Murfreesboro and Brentwood’s Lou Provost. All 3 finished the day at four-over 76.
In Division 3, Murfreesboro’s Marcel Sow was the class of the division, scoring a big six-stroke victory. Sow posted 3 birdies en route to a round of 75. Chapel Hill’s Dusty Nowlin and Dickson’s Don Weiss, Jr. tied for 2nd place with their rounds of +9 81. In 4th place, two players tied with their rounds of +10 82: Brentwood’s Chris Guthrie and Murfreesboro’s Kevin German. Splitting the prize for 6th place were Murfreesboro’s Mike Burnett, Lewisburg’s Bryan Harwell and Centerville’s TJ Tidwell.
In Division 4, a one hole playoff was necessary to determine the winner. Two players finished their rounds at +16 88: Lucas Wheeler from Hendersonville and Gallatin’s Micah Rodriguez. Wheeler survived the first playoff hole to take the 1st place prize and trophy. 3rd place was split by Franklin’s Bruce Gordon and Alex Garcia. Both finished at +18 90.
In Division 5, East Tennessee chapter member, Chip Kirkland eeks out a one-stroke victiory over Murfreesboro’s Clint Carter. Kirkland finished at +17 89 and Carter at +18 90. A 3-way tie for 3rd place: Clarksville’s Michelle Martino, Charlotte’s Jimmy Murphy and Brentwood’s Rachel Guthrie. All 3 finished at +25 97.
In Open Net, Division 3’s Todd Choate from Dickson squeezes out a one-stroke win over Atlanta chapter member in Division 2, Sean Pierce. Rockvale’s Shawn Coleman (Division 2) and Nashville’s Jake Swiacki (Division 2) split the 3rd place prize.
In Senior Net, Division 3’s Don Weiss, Jr. takes the one-stroke victory over Division 3’s Chris Guthrie and Walter Hill’s Chris Randolph (Division 2). Nashville’s Neil Master take the 4th place prize.
All division contest results, NET competitions and optional side games results, including divisional skins games, super skins, closest-to-the-pins and Net Fourball can be found on the Leaderboard links below. All these games and outcomes were determined by the number of common holes completed.

Next up for the Nashville chapter is Montgomery Bell Golf Course in Burns, TN on SUNDAY, August 17th. Everyone will SHOTGUN start at 8:00 am. This tournament is the 2nd of 3 straight weekends on tour for the Nashville members.
