Tournament Champions
The New Jersey Amateur Players Tour kicked off June in style with a sold-out event on June 1st at the stunning Architects Golf Club in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. With cool morning temperatures in the upper 60s and plenty of sunshine, the stage was set for a perfect day of competition. A full field of 64 players from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York came ready to battle in what has become one of the tour’s favorite annual stops—
Architects Golf Club never disappoints, offering a unique layout that pays tribute to the golden age of golf course design. Each hole is inspired by the legendary work of iconic architects like Donald Ross, Alister MacKenzie, and A.W. Tillinghast—creating a timeless experience that challenges players while showcasing classic design principles. With pristine fairways and fast, true greens, the course was in spectacular shape, and the competitive spirit was alive and well as players looked to take home top honors in this fan-favorite showdown.
In Division 1, Preston Kyriakoulis, teeing off in the first group of the day, came out strong and set the early pace with a solid +2 at the turn. Hot on his heels was Trevor DuBoff, just one shot better at +1 through the front nine, creating a tense chase for the top spot. Knowing there was no room for error, Kyriakoulis delivered a steady performance on the back nine, going even par to finish with a composed 73 (+2).
All eyes turned to DuBoff, who made a big move with an eagle on the par-5 11th and followed it up with a birdie on 12, momentarily taking the lead. But the momentum came to a halt on the very next hole, as a triple bogey on #13 erased his advantage and opened the door for Kyriakoulis to claim victory.
In the end, Kyriakoulis held on to win the Duel of Designs trophy, with his impressive +2 round. Greg Latushko also made a charge on the back nine, carding +1 and finishing alongside DuBoff in a tie for second place, both posting a respectable 76 (+5).
In Division 2, Michael Kraft captured his first win of the 2025 season with an impressive round of 76 (+5), navigating a tightly contested field where just three strokes separated the top spot from the prize pool cut line. It was anything but an easy victory, with the pressure on throughout the round.
Chad Hertzog put up a strong challenge, finishing just one shot back with a solid 77 (+6) to claim second place. Rounding out the prize pool, Christopher Brink and Brian Coakley shared third place honors, each carding a 78 (+7) in a competitive finish that showcased the depth of the field.
In Division 3, Larry Barber came out determined and ready to make a statement—fresh off a strong showing at the PGA National Major, he carried that momentum into the Duel of Designs and delivered a solid performance, claiming the trophy with an impressive 84 (+13). Just two strokes back, Gary Greener and Greg Pammer battled it out to finish in a tie for second, each posting 86 (+15). Rounding out the leaderboard was newcomer Timothy Looby, who held on to fourth place with a respectable 87 (+16) in his tour debut.
In Division 4, With a competitive field of 13 players, Division 4 was wide open—and Jose Martinez made a strong return to the tour by rising to the occasion. He claimed the top spot with an impressive 87 (+16), securing a well-earned victory.
Second place was a shared battle, as Adam Reed and Sal Leto both posted matching scores of 90 (+19), finishing in a tie and rounding out the prize pool cut line in a tightly contested division.
In Division 5, Division 5 delivered one of the most exciting battles of the day. Despite a smaller field of just 9 players, the competition was fierce, with only six strokes separating first from fifth place.
Nicolas Vacca rose to the occasion, earning his first victory of the 2025 season with a steady round of 92 (+21). Just one stroke back, Jeremiah Cassidy kept the pressure on throughout the day, finishing with a 93 (+22) to secure a hard-fought second place.
