APT January Kickoff at Innisbrook
The APT kicked off the 2026 calendar year in a strong fashion at Innisbrook Resort (host of the PGA Tour’s Valspar Championship). Players took on two of Florida’s most demanding tests across the Island Course and the signature Copperhead Course.
From the opening tee shots to the final putts, the week delivered exactly what the January Kickoff is known for: competitive fields, challenging conditions, and players rising to the occasion on courses that reward patience and commitment.
Division 1 set the tone early, with Andrew Buse of Louisville, KY securing the win at +10. John Masotti of Fayetteville, NC followed at +12, while Andrew Miller of Louisville, KY rounded out the top three at 15 over par, in a division where consistency was key across both rounds.
In Division 2, Daren Green of Cape Coral, FL claimed the title at +17 after a strong closing round. 2025 North American Champion, Matthew Bankston of Harvey, LA finished just one shot back at +18, with 2025 Division 2 Senior Player of the Year, Travis Wartluft of Lake Wylie, SC taking third at 22 over par.
Division 3 saw Dustin Hunter of Jonesburg, MO earn the victory at +30, pulling ahead with a strong second round. Pat Ryan, 2024 Division 3 Senior National Player of the Year, of Myrtle Beach, SC finished second at +31, while Larry Barber of Paulsboro, NJ and Rob Luter of Hot Springs, AR tied for third at 33 over par.
In Division 4, David Dick of Stokesdale, NC captured the win at +36, followed by Carl Elliston of Manhasset, NY at +38. John Moore of Cape Coral, FL finished third at +41, with Dave Funkhouser of Longs, SC and Ryan Troll of O’Fallon, MO tying for fourth at +42.
Division 5 rounded out the championship divisions, with Chuck Aiello of Maspeth, NY taking the top spot at +49. Greg Gastfield of Port Charlotte, FL finished second at +52, and Rusty Lingenfelter of Naples, FL completed the podium at +58.
The Mid-Am division delivered one of the tightest finishes of the week, as Dustin Hunter of Jonesburg, MO and David Dick of Stokesdale, NC shared the victory, both finishing at +6. Jeromy Sigler of North Fort Myers, FL finished just one shot back at +7, while J Combs of Stokesdale, NC and Ryan Troll of O’Fallon, MO tied for fourth at +10.
In Senior Net, Steven Eisenberg of Summerville, SC claimed the title at +3, backed by steady play across both rounds. Dave Funkhouser of Longs, SC finished second at +5, with Keith Muraoka of Costa Mesa, CA and Gary Barth of Cumming, GA tying for third at +7.
The APT January Kickoff brought together players from 32 different chapters, showcasing the depth and reach of the tour to start the season.
