APT DFW Tournament Recap – Watters Creek
The Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter of the Amateur Players Tour was back in action at The Courses at Watters Creek this past weekend. Players were greeted with challenging conditions to start the day, as rain from the previous day left the course cart path only and required preferred lies. Despite the wet conditions, scoring remained competitive throughout the field across all divisions as the 2026 season continues to heat up.
The layout at Watters Creek provided a solid test, rewarding accurate tee shots and strong putting throughout the day. Despite the challenges, several players battled through the conditions while competing for the top spots in their divisions.
Division Winners
· Division 1: Jacob Rodriguez– 75
Jacob started the back nine two strokes back of the front nine leader by carding a 41. With back to back birdies on holes 13 and 14 he came in with a 34 on the back to win by two over second place Taylor Gossett (Oklahoma City) and by three over third place Ciro Baeza.
· Division 2: Adolfo Perez – 77
Adolfo played the front nine at 5 over par and even par on the back to take home the trophy over second place Jordan Ozata by one stroke and third place Tony Khurana by two.
· Division 3: Willy Syrquin – 82
We had a three way playoff for the trophy in D3 between Willy Syrquin, Devaraj Narayan and Sai Duvvuri. Sai shot a 41/41 while Willy and Devaraj both shot 42 /40. Unfortunately with the amount of public play behind us we were unable to do and on course playoff so we had a scorecard playoff with Willy taking the trophy.
· Division 4: Gary Willis – 81
Gary started the back with a two shot lead and went on to shoot three over on the back to win by five strokes over second place Robert LaGrace 86 and third place Robert Haynes 87.
· Division 5: Stephen Lamb – 95
Stephen played consistently with a 46/49 for his round to win by six with Jason Hansard carding a 101 and third place Juan Dorado who carded a 102.
· Mid-Am Net: Jordan Ozata (+1) took home the trophy by way of a scorecard playoff over Willy Syrquin
· Senior Net: Devaraj Narayan – (-1)
· CTP Winners: #3 Devaraj Narayan 9’11”, #9 Allen Hall 4”8”, #11 Willy Syrquin 3’, #16 Tony Khurana 6’6’’
· 50/50: Brian Downe $90 Folds of Honor $90.
