The Spring Open at Magnolia Creek

Magnolia Creek made its inaugural debut on the APT rotation this weekend, and it didn’t disappoint. There were some early concerns about the weather, with rain in the forecast for Saturday, but the weather experts were wide right — showers held off until late evening. The wind, though, stole the show. Gusting at 12 to 15 mph, it gave this links-style layout a true Scotland-meets-Ireland feel, putting every player’s shot-making skills to the test.

    Division 1: Brown Finishes Strong

Jarod Brown came out ready, carding birdies on holes 7 and 9 to make the turn at 35 (-1). Don Bradham stayed close behind with an even-par 36, while Jason Hawthorn and Nestor Alvarez lurked just two shots back at 37 (+1). The two leaders were tied at +2 heading to the 15th before Brown slammed the door with birdies on 17 and 18, finishing even-par 72 for a well-earned victory.

    Division 2: Duhon Locks In

After opening with a bogey, Darien Duhon found his rhythm and settled into one of the steadiest rounds of the day. He turned at 39 (+3), holding a narrow lead over Daren Pickering, who shot 41 (+5) to stay within reach. But Duhon simply didn’t flinch, matching his front nine with another 39 (+3) to post a 78 (+6) and take home the Division 2 title.

Division 3: White in Command from the Start

Troy White set the tone early with a birdie on hole 5 and a front-nine 39 (+3), giving himself a four-shot cushion over James Prette at the turn. Prette posted a solid 42 (+6) but couldn’t close the gap as White stayed consistent down the stretch, finishing with an 83 (+11) and a comfortable Division 3 win.

Division 4: Lerma Rallies on the Back Side

Ray Medina held the early lead after nine with a 41 (+5), while Allen Thompson and Jaun Lerma both shot 43 (+7) with matching birdies on the fifth. When the group made the turn, Lerma found another gear. His back-nine 40 (+4), featuring just four bogeys, was enough to pull away from the field and claim the Division 4 victory at 83 (+11).

Division 5: Tribble Holds Off the Field

Division 5 shaped up as a three-player battle among Tom Tribble, Muhammad Qadir, and 2025 Player of the Year Rick Pritchard. Tribble caught fire early with a birdie on hole 2, turning at 46 (+10). Qadir and Pritchard weren’t far behind at 48 (+12), both trying to apply pressure on the back side. But Tribble stayed steady, and his cushion proved to be enough

    Senior Net:

Ray Medina won senior net with a 69(-3)

There was a four-way tie for second with Donald Bradham, Darien Duhon, Troy White & Noah Johnson posting a 71(+1)

Magnolia Creek’s first APT event had it all: wind, strategy, and plenty of exciting finishes across the board.

Congratulations to all the winners, and thanks to everyone who came out to compete and support.
