APT Memphis Tournament Recap
A Competitive Day Across All Divisions
On a picture perfect day for golf, players from across the Memphis Amateur Players Tour fielded their best at Mallard Pointe golf club that tested every skill in the bag. With warm temperatures and tricky pin placements consistency and course management proved essential for success. Each division featured familiar names at the top — along with a few new contenders making noise as the 2026 season gets started.

Division 1: McDugle Keeps the Momentum Going
In Division 1, Edward McDugle continued his winning ways, posting a steady +4 (76) to capture another title. McDugle’s trademark consistency once again proved to be the difference as he maintained control throughout the round. Jeff Dickey carded an 80 (+8) to take home second, staying competitive but unable to match McDugle’s precision.

Division 2: Avant Rises to the Top
The Division 2 competition saw Jeff Avant deliver a composed performance with a 77 (+5) to secure the victory. Andrew McCool from Nashville followed at +10 (82), while Tommy Warren claimed third with an 86 (+14). Rounding out the top five were Paul Luker (+17, 89) and Stephen Winkel (+18, 90), each battling the challenging setup to finish strong.

Division 3: Brown Outlasts the Field
It was a tight race in Division 3, where Kevin Brown emerged victorious with a solid 85 (+13). A pair of players, Iceman Clark and Kyle Kucharski shared second place at +15 (87). Marshall Dean finished fourth at +18 (90), followed by Ken Grisham rounding out the top five at +20 (92).

Division 4: Pieczonkan Earns the Win
In Division 4, Ken Pieczonka claimed the top spot with a 96 (+24), holding off Vince Vaghela who finished +26 (98). Nate Guyton rounded out the leaderboard at +29 (101). The players showcased perseverance on a demanding track that tested every facet of their games.

Division 5: Miller Finds His Groove
Arthur Miller Jr. secured the Division 5 victory with a 100 (+28), edging out Harlis Reese who carded a 102 (+30). Miller’s ability to stay composed down the stretch proved decisive in a round defined by patience and steady play.

Mid-Am Net: Brown Delivers Again
In the Mid-Am Net division, Kevin Brown doubled up on success, firing a +2 (74) to take top honors. Mark Taylor finished second at +7 (79), followed closely by Kyle Kucharski at +8 (80). Carl McKee, Arthur Miller Jr., and Scott Ballard rounded out the field in a competitive flight that kept the leaderboard moving all day.

Senior Net: McDugle Adds Another Win
Rounding out the event, Edward McDugle continued his dominance in the Senior Net division, firing a 75 (+3) to capture first place. Iceman Clark claimed runner-up honors at +6 (78), followed by Ken Grisham at +9 (81) and Jon Sylvester at +12 (84).

Final Thoughts
This event once again showcased the depth of talent and camaraderie within the APT Memphis Chapter. Seasoned veterans like McDugle and Brown demonstrated why they remain perennial contenders, while new faces made strong impressions.

Looking Ahead: The Road to Little Rock
The APT Memphis Chapter now turns its attention to the next stop — The Country Club of Arkansas in Little Rock on October 25. This regular-season event will feature an exciting team competition built into the Mid-South Cup, where Memphis players will join forces to take on members from neighboring chapters. With valuable points and bragging rights on the line, this event promises spirited play and plenty of friendly rivalry as the season continues to heat up.
