Participation and Results
Division 1
The leaderboard featured top competitors such as Leonardo Giron (Chula Vista) and J. Chandraputra (Los Angeles), Raymond Warner (Murrieta, CA), Josh Caldwell (Temecula, CA), Logan Curry (Tustin, CA) Riley Kline (San Dimas, CA)
What a great competition in Division 1, back-and-forth battle all day. Raymond Warner held the lead for most of the front nine but then hit some struggles on nine. New member Logan Curry was also in the mix, along with tour veteran Josh Caldwell, who carded 2 birdies on the front nine. Logan took a double bogey on 12 to set him back a bit, but he continued to stay close. Josh carded birdies on 15 and 17 to go to 1 under on the round and took home the Lombardi trophy in Division 1! Logan finished second at 75 and Link Stovall third with 77.
Division 2
One of our largest fields of the season in Division 2, with 16 golfers ready to battle it out. Former tour member Kyle Cardoza (Tustin, CA) returned to the tour. Last week’s champion Keith Manchester (Garden Grove, CA) was ready to try and go back-to-back. Will Duff (Long Beach, CA), last season’s Southwest Cup team member, was hitting his first event of 2026. In addition to new member, Hung Huynh (Cypress, CA), Jason Prewitt, (Eastvale, CA), Kirk Singer, (Seal Beach, CA) and a host of other golfers.
None of the golfers took command or separated themselves, as a bunch of the leaders all shot 41 on the front nine. However, new player Hung Huynh, after a double bogey on 8, carded a 39 and was in the lead. As they came down the back nine, Hung might have felt the pressure of the lead as he bogeyed the last three holes, opening the door for the others. Will Duff could not capitalize as he went double bogey and bogey to finish and was in third place with an 82. However, last week’s champ Keith Manchester, made a dramatic birdie on 18 with a 10-foot putt to card a back-nine 38 and a round of 79 to win by one over Hung Huynh! Great drama and good job, guys.
Division 3
Another great field in division 3, including last season’s Player of the year, Ryan Maramis, (Corona, CA), last week’s champion Jayson Huett, (Los Alamitos, CA), Season points leader Blake Moorman, (Fallbrook, CA) Dave Davidson (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) along with Nico Romero, (Fullerton, CA) Tim Rohrer (San Diego, CA) and many others were ready to battle for the Lombardi trophy.
Out strong and in the lead was Dave Davidson with a 39 on the front, along with Nico Romero, who made a birdie on 9 to shoot 41 on the front. The big numbers were getting some of the guys today as a number of golfers were posting triple bogeys, so it proved to be the day for the consistent avoid the big number golfer that would break through. That proved to be true as Nico Romero shot a steady round and even with bogey on 18 was able to card an 83 and take home the victory! This was Nico’s first win on tour, and it deserved the fist pump on 18 for the win! Ryan Maramis and Blake Moorman tied for second with 85’s.
Division 4
The largest field of the day was in division 4, 19 golfers were ready to get after it. Season points leader Kurt Odegard (Anaheim Hills, CA) Brad Forsyth (Alta Loma, CA) Saul Armendariz (Granada Hills, CA), Aaron Bryan (Carlsbad, CA), and returning member Tim Cruz (Long Beach, CA), to name a few, that would contend on this day.
Brad was one of the first off the course to post a score and no one knew if it would be enough. However, his back nine 41 with a birdie on 17 was good enough for an 87 and a possible winning number? Still on the course was Tim Cruz, who started hot with a birdie on 3 and a front nine of 41. Tim started to come back to the field on the back nine with a string of double bogeys down the stretch and he ended up posting an 88. Newcomer to the tour Barrett Miller (Orange, CA) made a great putt on 18 that we all thought was to get into a playoff, his total ended up being an 88 not an 87 and he was now tied for second with Brad still holding on. Saul Armedariz was in one of the last groups and was playing well. Hit tee shot on 18 put him in great position to win the tournament, his shot over water on 18 missed the green and he wasn’t able to get up and down for par, which means he tied with Brad at 87. A playoff wasn’t needed as Saul admitted he was too tired to keep playing and graciously gave the win and trophy to Brad Forsyth. With another win on the season, he inches closer to Kurt in the season’s points race. Tim, Barrett, and Kurt all tied for second.
Division 5
Once again, Danny Acosta (Las Vegas, NV) and Eddy Moore (Menifee, CA) were contending for the division 5 points and trophy. Eddy has gotten the best the last couple of events but would he today? However, another group of golfers was trying to take the title as well. Ronak Desai (Irvine, CA) Osman Atiq, (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) Ray Van Holland (Seal Beach, CA) Greg Miller (Menifee, CA) and others.
Armond Herndon (Corona, CA) New member on tour, was out with the best front nine score of 46, just in front of Eddy and Danny, who posted 47 and 48. The back nine however, was not being nice to Armond and he carded several double bogeys, but in his first event out was able to shoot a 97 and good for third place. Bringing up the end of the tournament and playing together in the final group Eddy and Danny were battling back and forth. Danny was in good position to take the title until he doubled 16 and triple bogeyed 18 to shoot 94 and left the door open for Eddy. Eddy proceeded to par the difficult 18th hole with a great putt and once again is the champion for division 5, shooting a great round of 90!
