Div 1- Derek Schroer made the trip from Fletcher, NC and made the best of his trip across state lines as he pulled out a 1 shot victory over Kentucky’s Barney Sutley. Schroer managed to post a 74 for the day in a round that included 3 birdies and an eagle. Sutley shot 75 to take home 2nd and TN East’s Tim Saunders placed 3rd with a 77.
Div 2- It took 19 holes but Joseph Hess got the job done for his 1st victory of the year. Hess and Tommy Sedman were tied after regulation after both players shot dueling 76s. Hess managed to beat Sedman on the 1st playoff hole to take home victory. Turtle Allison was 3rd with a 6 over, 78.
Div 3- There was one player in D3 that managed to break 80. That player was Chris Beeler who came in with a 7 over, 79. Beeler’s round included 10 pars and a birdie on the tough par 3 8th hole. Beeler was 6 shots clear of his closest competitor Rickie Keyes who shot an 85. Dan Mitchell was 3rd at +15.
Div 4- Sammy Sedman used strong iron play to capture his 2nd victory of the season in route to shooting an 80. It was his best round of the year. Sedman entered the last hole down a shot to Jason Anderson but managed his only birdie of the day on the closing hole. After Anderson doubled the 18th, Sedman found himself in the winner’s circle by 2 shots. Anderson’s 82 was tied by Tanner Grove for the 2nd spot on the leaderboard.
Div 5-Johnny Kidd closed strong on the back 9, shooting a 40, which sent him to top of the leaderboard and into the clubhouse with a strong 85. Kidd’s +13 round was 3 clear of Michael Ridge Sr and Chip Kirkland who tied for 2nd.
