44 Golfers teed it up on the Hottest Day of 2022 thus far. The temperatures soared in the high 90s.
In Division 1, Aubrey Evans asked for a late tee time and didn’t get a chance to warm-up and started with a bogey-bogey start but steadied the ship and finished at 3 over 75 to clip Dave Dustin and Chris Lamb by one Shot. 18 year old college freshman Marco Zarate was in the hunt early but a late triple bogey had him 7 shots out.
In Division 2, 18 holes was not enough. Buzz Buzinski and Ken Jones decided to play 7 more holes before Buzz parred the 7th Playoff Hole to Capture the D2 title. That is definitely the longest playoff in Virginia Capital’s brief history. Newcomer, Brian Poe finished one stroke back in 3rd and Tim Robinson and Chris Denz finished two off the pace.
Rich Geren, captured the D3 title by one shot over Darren Blackwell with Joe Renteria finishing two back in 3rd.
In Division 4, APT Rookie Edward Mose captured a one shot victory over Chuck Nimmo.
In Division 5, Les Bullock continued his improved play and captured his first victory of the season over Tom Fredette.
In Senior Net, Les Bullock also captured the victory by one shot over Buzz Buzinski and Enrique Young. Tim Robinson finished 4th.
