Henry Horton hosted the Nashville Chapter’s first event of 2024.  150 players, split by division over Saturday and Sunday, competed across 5 divisions for a total prize pool totaling close to $4,500 and side games totaling over $3,000. This event set a new Nashville Chapter record for total number of players. We were extremely fortunate to have decent weather over the course of the weekend and able to get all groups finished with their rounds in a reasonable about of time and well before dark

In Division 1, Ed McDugle defended his title as champion and needed a bit of flare in the process.  McDugle headed to the par 5 18th down two strokes and needed to make something special happen and did he deliver as he holed his approach shot from 167 yards for eagle to put him in to a three-way playoff with Alex Cobb from Brentwood and Jake Funderburk from Nashville, who were both in the clubhouse with rounds of -1 71. McDugle capitalized on the opportunity and scored the win on the 2nd playoff hole.

Joe Barron from Nashville finishes in 4th with his even par round of 72. Dennis King from Nashville scores a 5th place finish with his round of +1 73.  Rounding out the prize pool winners in a four-way tie for 6th at +2 74 were Adam Cunningham from Cookeville, Dakota Woodcock from Scottsville, KY, Derek Joslin from Iuka, MS and Austin Vasquez from Hendersonville.

In Division 2, Kentucky Chapter member, Kevin Hoffmann from Prospect, KY scores the four-stroke victory over Lenny Beachy (+5 77) from Hendersonville. Hoffmann played some fantastic golf, posting a +1 round of 73.  Frank Thomas II from Columbia takes the 3rd place prize, scoring +6 78.  In a tie for 4th place was Ryan Kieswetter from Brentwood and Nathan Woods of Nashville. Both finished the day at +7 79. Rounding out the prize pool payouts in 6th place, with a score of +8 80 was John Bean from Nashville.

Division 3 was hotly contested and decided on the final hole. Jerred Brown from Nashville squeezes out the one-stroke victory over Drew Sanford from Lewisburg. Brown posted +6 78 while Sanford shoots +7 79 to take 2nd place. Lowe Prescott from Dickson and Jeff Hudgins from Smyrna finish in a 3rd place tie with rounds of +8 80. In 5th place was Jack Hranec from Nolensville where he finished the day at +9 81. In a logjam at +11 83 was a six-way tie for 6th place: Daniel Fletcher from Dallas, TX, Sam Cook from Columbia, David Morel from Nashville, Will Houston from Brentwood and Chase Weems from Nashville.

In Division 4, Jason Bucher (+12 84) from Paris, who is no stranger to the podium, takes home the one-stroke victory over Theodore Regan and his round of +13 85. Joshua Cox from Dickson posts +15 87 and finishes in 3rd. In 4th place in a four-way tie at +16 88 were Thurman Boyd from Smyrna, John Beatrice from Nashville, Wade Williams from Nolensville and John Cormier from Clarksville.

In Division 5, a playoff was needed to decide the winner. Hunter Williams from Adamsville and Nolan McGrady from Nashville finished tied at the top with rounds of +17 89. The playoff only lasted one hole where McGrady prevailed. Rachel Guthrie from Brentwood and Chris Mayor from Smyrna both finished at +22 94 to tie for 3rd place and round out the prize pool winners.
