Tournament Champions
A challenging day of golf met a large group of competitors who vied for over $2,700 in cash and VISA gift card prizes as a part of the Charleston Amateur Players Tour tournament at the Links at Stono Ferry on Monday.
The Charleston Amateur Players Tour travels the Lowcountry of South Carolina, giving golfers of all skill levels a chance to compete in ten different divisions. The tour is designed by the players, for the players, and is intended to offer a fun and competitive environment for beginners all the way to experienced golfers.
Monday, the field of competitors was treated to the Links at Stono Ferry, a semi-private club located in Hollywood, SC.
The Links at Stono Ferry combines the historic traditions of Charleston with exciting golf along the Intracoastal waters of South Carolina. The Battle at Stono Ferry was fought on the grounds in 1779. As you play around the beautiful links you’ll discover many relics from this amazing piece of history.
The battle is still being fought today, only this time it is over 18 of Charleston’s best golf holes. New Champion bermudagrass putting surfaces were installed in 2005 as well as the creation of the island-green 18th hole. The results of our efforts won Stono Ferry the prestigious “Charleston Area Golf Course of the Year Award”.
