We had 42 players come to Salem Glen CC. The players were invited to warm weather in the 80s with a brief weather delay. The course was in fantastic shape and if you are in the Clemmons/Winston-Salem area it’s a must play.
In Division 1, John Masotti and Kyle Moffett made this a 2-way race as both players got off to a great start. On the back there were a few mishaps that played a factor in the results. Masotti cards a 68(-3) to win by 4 shots over Kyle Moffet. Moffett takes 2nd place. The POY is coming down to the wire between a few players.
In Division 2 we had 3 players that shot 77(+6) Terry Newsome, Jimmy Popp and Matthew Fegley. In the playoff Jimmy Popp and Matthew Fegley made birdies on the 1st playoff hole. On the 2nd playoff hole Jimmy Popp chips in for birdie to win the tournament. What a finish!!! Congrats Jimmy Popp!! Popp and Newsome split Senior Double Dip.
In Division 3 we a great performance by Rob Andrews that shot a score of 79(+8) that was good enough to win by 1 shot over Jason Smith and Micheal Shaw that shot 80(+9). Andrews has now moved himself in position for POY honors with 1 tournament remaining on schedule. Smith and Shaw take T2 place. In Senior Double Dip Contest Christy McCauley wins with a score of 84(+13)
In Division 4 we had 2 players going back and forth for the win. Bernie Loehr and Ronnie Thornton were in a dual all the way to the last few holes. In the end Ronnie end shooting 84(+13) to win by 1 shot over Bernie Loehr. Thornton also won the Senior Double Dip contest as well.
In Division 5 Mike Charles shot a score of 92(+19) to win Division 5.
