Indianapolis Amateur Players Tour Recap – Timbergate Golf Course

The Indianapolis Amateur Players Tour rolled into Edinburgh, Indiana on a picture-perfect Sunday as competitors took to the fairways of Timbergate Golf Course. A challenging but fair layout tested players across all divisions, leading to a day full of tightly contested finishes and standout performances.

In Division 1, Zach Ricketts rose to the top, delivering a steady round of 83 to capture the title. Ricketts’ consistent play earned him the top spot and the trophy.

Division 2 delivered one of the most thrilling finishes of the day. John Burton carded a sharp 77, just enough to edge out Josh Brooks by a single stroke (78) and Nathan Dorsch by two (79) in a tightly packed leaderboard.

Division 3 featured another strong battle, with Rex Meyer setting the pace with a 79 to claim victory. He held off Ben Minnich, who finished just behind with an 81, while John Blackburn and Ross Richardson each posted 82 to stay within striking distance.

In Division 4, Dylan Mulholland emerged victorious with a solid 84, fending off a determined challenge from Andrew Nehrt (85) and Shannon Sageser (86) in a closely fought contest.

Division 5 saw Tom Heiser shine with an impressive 89, sealing the win ahead of Zach Jackson (91) and Kristie Sounders (93), who both put in strong efforts.

The Senior Net competition featured two players doubling up with standout performances. Rex Meyer claimed his second title of the day with a stellar net 69, edging out Shannon Sageser’s even-par 72.

Meanwhile, Tom Heiser also completed a “double dip” in Open Net with a net 70, holding off both John Burton and Josh Brooks by two strokes.

With another successful event in the books, the Indianapolis Amateur Players Tour looks ahead to its return to Timbergate Golf Course in September for the eagerly anticipated local finals.
