The Crown Jewel lived up to its name with one of the most picturesque settings and best course conditions we’ve seen all year. The Jewel GC, nestled along the Mississippi River bluffs, delivered immaculate fairways, challenging green speeds, and a layout that tested every club in the bag. Weather was ideal, but the lightning-fast greens made scoring tough across the board. A strong contingent of players from the Central Illinois Chapter made the trip to compete, sparking a friendly cross-chapter rivalry that we hope becomes a staple moving forward — though Minnesota took home most of the hardware this time!

    🏆 Division 1

    Winner: Brett Mathiowetz (+7, 78)
Brett outlasted the field on a day where the course demanded precision, posting a gritty 78 to capture his second win of the year and take the lead in the Division 1 Player of the Year standings. His steady play, particularly on the back nine, was enough to edge out the runner-up.

    🏆 Division 2

    Winner: Brad Wilczynski (+9, 80)
Brad made it two straight wins in as many events, taking home Division 2 with an impressive 80. A mix of consistency and smart play gave him the edge and vaulted him into the top spot in the Division 2 Player of the Year race.

    🏆 Division 3

    Winner: Donald Scott (+15, 86)
Donald picked up his third win of the season with an 86 at The Jewel, extending his lead in the Division 3 standings. He showed solid control off the tee and managed the demanding green complexes better than the rest of the field.

    🏆 Division 4

    Winner: Edward Pavese (+21, 92)
Traveling in from Mattoon, IL, Ed Pavese made his mark in Minnesota by winning Division 4 and taking over the lead in the Central Illinois Player of the Year standings. He handled the course’s trickiest pin placements with confidence and played consistent golf throughout the day.

    💬 Final Thoughts

We’re grateful to all players who made the trip — especially those from our sister chapter in Central Illinois — for contributing to a competitive and community-driven event. The friendly rivalry between chapters brought great energy, and we’re looking forward to seeing it continue at future events.
