MILE HIGH DENVER CHAPTER OF THE AMATEUR PLAYERS TOUR
Denver Finals at Raccoon Creek Golf Course Tournament Recap-September 13, 2025
Anticipation, anxiety, and excitement were in the air for the 52 players registered to play in the Denver Chapter Finals for the 2025 Season. Tournament prizes and trophies, plus the final tournament points to determine the Player of the Year for Denver in every division were waiting to be won by the players with the best scores winning money and prizes. The weather was perfect for a late summer tournament round of golf with highs in the upper 70s with little chance of rain.
NOTABLES: The Denver Chapter was pleased to announce our first Division 2 Lady to play in the Denver chapter at the previous tournament at Fox Hollow. Audrey Rosen proved to all D2 players that she is a force to be reckoned with. Audrey sunk an ~25-30 putt on #18 to shoot a 1 under score of 71!
The Eagle streak for a Denver tournament continues as Division 3 player Aaron Skiles made a 3 on the Par 5 15th hole. Aaron used driver, 6-iron, and made a 12-foot eagle putt! Let us keep our streak continuing at the Opening 2026 Season Event at City Park.
Birdies were all over the place in the Denver Finals. Every Division registered birdies once again and the field was led by Trevor Glen and Audrey Rosen each scoring 4 birdies. Victor Minovich, Gary Wayne, Hendrik Orlowski, Aaron Skiles, and D4 player from Utah, Mark Ingalls registered 3 birdies each. Greg Otto, Mike Synek, Nick Visocky, Kevin Causey, Eric Drucker, Ethan Andrews and Brandon Jansson all scored 2 birdies.
DIVISION 1: Division 1 had a strong field for the tournament with the Season’s top 4 points leaders playing in the same foursome. Competition was keen with playing for the Final Tournament winnings plus jockeying for the Local Player of the Year. The top performers did not disappoint as Trevor Glen and Victor Minovich shooting 71 (1 under par) to tie. They proceeded to the 1st tee for an on-course playoff. After both players shooting par, birdie, par on the first 3 playoff holes, the match was decided on the 4th hole, par 3 at Raccoon Creek. Glen’s tee shot ended hole high and about 15 feet to the left of the hole. Minovich hit a beautiful shot that hit about 3-5 feet below the hole. Unfortunately for Victor, his ball spun backwards down and off the sloped green. His chip shot nearly went in the hole but ended about 3-4’ above the hole. Trevor’s first putt was about a foot short, but under the hole. Trevor made his par putt to win Division 1, the trophy and 1st place prize money.
DIVISION 2: Audrey Rosen’s score of 71 (-1) was too good for the D2 field to match. Audrey closed her round with a birdie putt on #18 to win D2 by 4 strokes. Audrey won her first APT trophy and money. Kevin Causey had a very solid round score of 75 to win second place money. Hendrik Orlowski finished in 3rd place with a score of 76.
DIVISION 3: Ethan Andrews followed up his strong play in the last tournament and shot a division 3 best score of 79. Ethan won his first APT trophy but as a high school player, he is ineligible to win prize money. Scott Rowley finished in 2nd place with a score of 81 and was the happy recipient of the 1st place prize money! Seth Gurss and Aaron Skiles finished tied for 3rd with scores of 84.
DIVISION 4: Connor Rogers was able to fend off Mark Ingalls from Bluffdale, Utah to win the 1st place trophy and prize money for D4. Rogers ended with a score of 81 while Ingalls shot his lowest APT tournament score ever with an impressive 82. Brandon Foster was remarkably close to Connor and Mark and shot an exceptionally good D4 score of 83.
DIVISION 5: Taylor Fortini has been knocking on the winner’s door a couple of times in previous tournaments. Taylor closed out the deal this week at Raccoon Creek by shooting a very impressive score of 85 to win the 1st place trophy and prize money. Brandon Jansson finished in 2nd place with a very solid score of 87 while Ray Lopez came in 3rd place.
OPEN NET: 14 players entered the Open Net competition but a career APT low score by Taylor Fortini was too good for anyone to top. Taylor ended with a net score of 69 (-3) to earn the trophy and prize pool. Connor Rogers ended up in 2nd place with an even par net score, while Hendrik Orlowski took 3rd place with 73. Division 5 player Cody Canzona ended with a very good net score of 75.
SENIOR NET: As was the case with Open Net, Mark Ingalls’ career APT low score was too good for the field to match in the Senior Net competition. Mark’s scorching net score of 67 (-5) easily gave him 1st place and he won the trophy and prize pool. Greg Otto and Scott Rowley tied for 2nd place with scores of 72, followed by Seth Gurss who shot a 73 net score .
FOLDS OF HONOR 50/50 RAFFLE: Griffin Woodall was the winner of the 50/50 Raffle winning $80 with a contribution of $80 going to Folds of Honor.
