    Competitors on the Western North Carolina and Upstate Amatuer Players Tours combined for an elevated event Monday at Springdale Golf Course near Canton, NC.  

    Set against the backdrop of Cold Mountain and the surrounding Appalachian landscape, Springdale Golf Course provides an 18-hole, par-72 test that appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The layout features winding fairways and undulating greens, blending natural beauty with a design that challenges players while still offering an enjoyable and memorable round. 

    The Western North Carolina and Upstate Amateur Players Tours travel their respective regions in the Carolinas, offering golfers the chance to play at some of the best course in the area while competing in divisions based on handicaps.  

    The tours also feature net divisions, split between mid-am and senior divisions. Each tournament, the tours award cash and VISA gift card prizes, and offer an optional cash skins game. Designed by the players, for the players, both the Western North Carolina and Upstate tours strive to create a world class golf experience for their competitors.  

    Here’s a breakdown of the results from Monday’s tournament by division: 

    Division 1 – Joe Brooks’ birdie on the par-five 18th hole proved to be the difference in his one stroke victory with a round of even par, 72. Brooks overcame a tough start with a birdie on the par-five fifth hole before making eagle on the par-five ninth. Brooks’ two back nine birdies both came on par fives, as he played the four holes in five under par on the round.  

    Carlos Santana finished runner-up with a round of 73. Santana moved to one under par with back-to-back birdies on the fourth and fifth holes. He added two more birdies on the round as he and Brooks battled down the stretch.  

    Dylan Lancaster shot 77 to finish third. Lancaster played the par fives in two under par on the day, making birdies on the fifth and 18th holes to finish on the podium. Dan Constantino finished third with a round of 78. Constantino closed his round in style with an eagle on the par-five 18th hole.  

    Ashton Shope and Brandyn Norton rounded out the top five in a tie for fifth place with rounds of 80. Shope made two birdies on the day, both coming on the back nine. Norton played the front nine in just three-over par, including a bridie on the par-five fifth hole.  

    Division 2 – JB Anderson outlasted a crowded field of 21 competitors in Division 2 to win with a round of one-under par, 71. Anderson found his groove midway through the front nine, birding the par-four fourth hole before making another on the seventh. Anderson eagled the par-five ninth hole to shoot two-under par on the front nine. He made his final birdie of the day on the par-four 16th hole as he shot one-over par on the back nine.  

    Weston Brown and Nestor Santana finished tied for second place with rounds of 73. Brown also shot two-under par on the front side, birding the second and ninth holes while making eagle on the par-five fifth. Santana shot even par on the back side with three birdies, including two in a row to end the day on the 17th and 18th holes.  

    Scott Stevenson, Dylan Hampton, and Terry Upright rounded out the top five in the division with rounds of 79.  

    Division 3 – John Beck played his best golf on the front nine, placing himself in position to win Division 3 on Monday with a round of 78. Beck played the front nine in even par with two bridies, taking advantage of both par fives on the front nine. Beck made five pars on the back nine, proving to be enough to win by four strokes over the field.  

    Kyle Ramsey finished second with a round of 82. Ramsey made six pars on the back nine, including three in a row to close his round, securing the runner-up finish. Tyler Phillips and Michael Shirley tied for third place with rounds of 84. Phillips made two birdies on the day, as Shirley used five pars on the front side to shoot 41 on the opening stretch.  

    Wayne Blyler carded a round of 85 to finish fifth. Blyler got off to a solid start, making five pars on the front side, including four in his final six holes of the opening stretch.  

    Division 4 – Robert Gibson stayed away from the big numbers, posting a round of 82 to win by three strokes in Division 4 on Monday. Gibson shot 40 on the front nine, birding the par-five ninth hole. Four pars on the back nine were enough for Gibson, as he claimed the top honors. 

    Ryan Riffle shot 85 to finish second, leading the division with three birdies. Riffle trailed Gibson by one shot entering the back nine and took the lead with a birdie on the par-four 14th hole. After a few challenging holes, Riffle bounced back with a birdie on the closing hole to finish the back nine with a round of 44.  

    Zach Hutchinson finished third with a round of 88. Hutchinson shared the lead after the front nine, carding a round of 40 with five pars on the opening stretch. Grayson Moody, Bobby Wortham, Scott Bryant, Justin Sartain, and Danny Sullivan tied for fourth place with rounds of 89 to round out the top five in the division.  

    Division 5 – Dick Jenkins’ birdie on the par-four 16th hole proved to be crucial in his one stroke victory Monday with a round of 90. Jenkins took the top spot in Division 5, finding his groove on the back nine. Jenkins played his final four holes in one-over par, including the birdie on the 16th.  

    Michael McGill finished second with a round of 91. McGill’s front nine was highlighted by a birdie on the par-three third hole. He made four pars on the back nine as he and Jenkins battled for the top spot.  

    Rodney Ferrell shot 93 to finish third. Ferrell’s round featured a birdie on the par-five 18th hole. Anna Cyphers-Smith and Desmond Smith rounded out the top five in a tie for fourth place with rounds of 99 and 98, respectively. 

    Mid-Am (Net) – While Weston Brown fell just short of the top spot in Division 2, his net round of 69 was enough to win the Mid-Am net division. Brown made two net eagles and a net birdie on the front nine to shoot four-under par on the opening stretch. Brown made two more birdies on the back nine to clear the field by a single stroke.  

    John Beck finished second with a net round of 70. Beck made six net birdies on the round, five of which came on the front nine as he shot four-under par on the first nine. Carlos Santana shot 71 to finish third. Santana made five net birdies on the round to secure the podium finish. Jason Cogdill and Zach Hutchinson tied for fourth place with net rounds of 74.   

    Senior (Net) – JB Anderson and Nestor Santana shared the top spot in the Senior net division as both golfers carded net rounds of six-under par, 66. Anderson made six net birdies and two net eagles, playing the front side in four-under par. Santana finished with six net birdies and a net eagle in his stellar round.  

    Scott Bryant shot even-par 72 to finish third. Bryant made a net hole-in-one on the par-three 8th hole, followed by a net birdie on the par-five ninth. 

    Dick Jenkins and Danny Sullivan posted rounds of 73 to finish tied for fourth. Jenkins played the front nine in three-under par, making three net birdies and a net eagle. Sullivan made a pair of net eagles on the front nine as he shot even on the opening stretch.
