Bay Oaks didn’t make it easy on anyone. For the second straight year, Houston APT arrived to a soaked course, with rain pounding the layout across Thursday, Friday, and again Sunday night. The result was a soft, cart-path-only test for the final elevated event of the season—but the Houston players were ready for it.

    Division 1
Jarrod Brown came in as the defending champion and wasted no time setting the tone, opening with a sharp 3-under 33. Mark Young stayed within striking distance at 37 (+1), but Brown’s steady closing nine of 39 (+3) was enough to lock it down. Even-par 72 secured the repeat and confirmed his control of the division once again.

    Division 2
Another defending champion found himself in a grind early, opening at 40 (+4), with Scott Trebus three shots back at 43 (+7). From there, it became a test of patience. Darien stayed composed, matching his front-nine 40 on the back to post +8 (80), which proved enough to outlast the field and defend his title.

    Division 3
Steve Lemon grabbed the early edge with a 39 (+3), narrowly ahead of Mark Gonzales at 40 (+4). The back nine turned into a battle, but Lemon delivered when it mattered—two clutch pars over the closing stretch helped him secure the win at +8 (80). Gonzales stayed close throughout, finishing just one shot back at +9 (81).

    Division 4
This one turned into a back-nine showdown. Allen Thompson and Raymond Medina matched each other early at 41 (+5), while Denis Corleto surged back into contention with a birdie on 10. Thompson seized control on 14 and didn’t give it back, holding off Corleto down the stretch. He closed at +16 (88), with Corleto right behind at +17 (89).

    Division 5
Jason Reavis set the pace from the jump with a 41 (+5), building a cushion over Tom Tribble at 44 (+8). The turning point came on the back nine, where Reavis capitalized on both par fives with birdies. That late push sealed the deal, giving him a winning total of +16 (88). Tribble finished second at +20 (92).

    MidAm Net

Our newest net game for the Houston Chapter is the MidAm Net, which includes players age 49 and under.  The winner of our first MidAm Net game is Muhammad Qadir with a +6(78).

    Senior Net
Denis Corleto topped the senior net field with a strong 70 (-2). Jason Reavis followed closely at 71 (-1), while Mark Gonzales rounded out the top three at even-par 72.

Another rain-soaked chapter at Bay Oaks is in the books, with a pair of defending champions holding their ground and several tight finishes across the divisions.  Congratulations once again to all the champions!
