The stage was set at Mystic Dunes Golf Club, where The Tale of Two Coasts Championship tested every player’s endurance under relentless Central Florida heat and suffocating humidity. As temperatures climbed throughout the afternoon, only the steadiest performances would survive the grind and emerge victorious.

In Division 1, Brian Amos (Orlando) and Mark Carlson (Florida Southwest) battled through the demanding conditions, but it was Brian who stayed one step ahead all day, carding a 2-over-par 74 to claim the championship.

Brian wasted no time putting himself in contention, rolling in a birdie on the opening hole before giving a shot back at the second. He answered immediately with another birdie at the third to move back under par, but Mystic Dunes fought back with a double bogey at the fourth. Refusing to let the round unravel, Brian steadied himself with five consecutive pars to make the turn at 2-over, keeping himself firmly in control.

Mark stayed within striking distance through the opening nine. After opening with a string of pars he found trouble on both par 3’s on the front side, going out in 3-over 39. The championship remained within reach, but he needed something special coming home.

On the back nine, Brian played smart, controlled golf. Bogeys at the 12th and 15th were offset by clutch birdies on 16 & 17, and a closing par on 18 sealed an even-par inward nine and a winning total of 74.

Mark made his charge with birdies at the par-3 11th and the par-5 14th, trimming the deficit and creating late drama. But with the pressure mounting, Mystic Dunes delivered its decisive blow. A double – bogey – double finish ended the comeback bid and left Mark with a 78.

In oppressive conditions where every swing demanded focus and every par felt earned, Brian delivered the day’s most complete performance. His four birdies, timely recoveriesand unwavering composure earned him the title of The Tale of Two Coasts Champion in his maiden attempt!

In our Division 2 battle, Jose Santiago (Orlando) rose to the challenge, putting together a composed round of 6-over-par 78 to outlast a determined field that featured Caleb Smith(Atlanta), Don Cabarle (Orlando) and Amanda Henneman (Utah). While the leaderboard remained tight for much of the day, Jose delivered the consistency needed to separate himself when it mattered most.

Jose’s round got off to a rocky start with bogeys on 3 of the first 4 holes, but he quickly settled into the championship. A string of five consecutive pars carried him through the remainder of the front nine, allowing him to make the turn at 3-over 39 and maintain a share of the lead.

Caleb refused to back down despite a difficult opening stretch that included double bogeys at the first and third. Birdies on the par-5 sixth and par-5 eighth pulled him back into contention, and he reached the turn tied with Jose at 3-over. The two remained within striking distance of one another heading to the inward nine.

On the back, Jose continued to lean on steady golf. Despite a costly double bogey on the closing hole, he avoided the big mistakes that plagued the rest of the field to post a winning 78.

Caleb’s challenge unraveled over the final nine with a bogey at the 10th, a double bogey at the 13th, another at the 15th, and a closing bogey that left him at 81. Don overcame a triple bogey on the opening hole to battle back into contention before finishing at 85, while Amanda stayed in the hunt throughout the afternoon but was slowed by a triple bogey on the 12th, also closing with an 85.

In conditions that demanded patience as much as talent, Jose proved to be the steadiest player in the division. His ability to string together pars, limit mistakes and weather the late pressure earned him the championship at The Tale of Two Coasts Championship. This marks the second win of the season for Jose, paired with his win in April at The Companion Cup.

Jimmy DiBernardo (Orlando) weathered the demanding conditions better than anyone in Division 3, carding a 14-over-par 86 to hold off Ben Heinking (Chicago) and Andrew Gaddie (Orlando). It wasn’t a flawless round, but Jimmy repeatedly answered adversity with resilience, making the clutch shots necessary to stay in front from start to finish.

Jimmy opened with back-to-back-to-back bogeys before finding his footing with a birdie on the par-3 seventh. A double bogey at the par-5 eighth threatened to derail his momentum, but he still reached the turn at 5-over 41 with the lead intact.

Ben endured a turbulent front nine that featured a triple bogey on the second, double bogeys on the fourth and sixth, and a birdie at the par-5 eighth. Despite the rollercoaster opening side, he remained within striking distance after posting 46 on the front. Andrew also battled through early trouble, including a triple bogey on the par-5 sixth, but stayed in contention by making birdie on the ninth to turn in 46.

The back nine became a battle of survival. Jimmy stumbled with a triple bogey on the 10th but responded immediately with a par on the par-3 11th to halt the damage. He mixed in a birdie at the 14th and a par at the16th before closing out the round at 86.

Ben mounted one final charge, but a costly triple bogey on the 15th proved too much to overcome as he finished at 89. Andrew’s hopes faded with another difficult inward nine that included triple bogeys on the 10th and 18th, leaving him at 95.

On a day when Mystic Dunes demanded perseverance as much as precision, Jimmy proved to be the last man standing. By bouncing back from every setback and capitalizing on his scoring opportunities, he earned the Division 3 title (his first ever as a member of the Amateur Players Tour) at The Tale of Two Coasts Championship.

Brent Conlon (Orlando) conquered both the course and the conditions, posting a 20-over-par 92 to capture the Division 4 title over Chris Davisson (Orlando). While neither player was spared by Mystic Dunes’ demanding layout, Brent consistently recovered from adversity and gradually pulled away to secure the victory.

Brent’s front nine was a test of resilience from the start. After opening with a bogey, he added another at the third before triple bogeys on the par-5 sixth and par-5 eighth threatened to derail his round. Despite the setbacks, he battled through the difficult opening side and made the turn at 14-over 50, maintaining his advantage.

Chris also found Mystic Dunes unforgiving early. A double – double – triple start let him know that the course was in no mood to give anything away. Although he managed a hard-earned par on the par-3 seventh, he reached the turn at 17-over 53, leaving himself with work to do on the inward nine.

Brent responded with his steadiest golf of the day after the turn. He opened the back nine with pars on 4 of the first 5 holes and added others at the par-5 14th and par-3 17th, limiting the damage while Chris struggled to mount a charge. Even a triple bogey on the 16th couldn’t erase the cushion Brent had built, and he closed out the championship with a 42 on the back for a winning total of 92.

Chris continued to battle until the final putt, but a back nine that featured big numbers on the 11th, 14th, and 18th prevented any late comeback. His determination carried him to the finish, posting a final score of 103.

On a day when the heat was relentless and Mystic Dunes punished every lapse in concentration, Brent’s ability to regroup after the front-nine adversity proved to be the difference. His composed finish earned him the Division 4 championship at The Tale of Two Coasts Championship, the first victory of his young APT career.

David Densieski (Florida Southwest) outlasted the field in Division 5, grinding his way to a 27-over-par 99 to earn his third consecutive Orlando Chapter victory, this time over Steven Eisenberg (Orlando). In conditions where every hole presented another challenge, David relied on resilience and consistency to stay ahead from the opening tee shot to the final putt.

David’s round began with a bogey on the opening hole before double bogeys at the second and fourth briefly threatened to derail his momentum. He responded by limiting the damage over the remainder of the front nine, making a clutch par on the par-3 seventh and avoiding any big numbers the rest of the side to make the turn at 10-over 46.

Steven fought through an even tougher opening stretch. A double bogey on the first was followed by a triple bogey at the third and another at the demanding par-5 sixth. Despite a well-earned par on the par-3 seventh, he turned in 18-over 54 and faced an uphill climb heading to the back nine.

David continued to battle on the inward nine, opening with his second par of the day on the 10th before navigating a difficult closing stretch. Although the back nine included big numbers on the 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th, and 18th, he avoided the catastrophic holes that can quickly unravel a round at Mystic Dunes, posting a 53 to secure the victory.

Steven mounted a determined effort after the turn, highlighted by an excellent par on the par-3 11th, but the demanding finish proved too much to overcome.

On a day when stamina, patience and perseverance mattered as much as shot-making, David answered every challenge Mystic Dunes presented. His ability to stay composed, limit the biggest mistakes and keep moving forward earned him the Division 5 title at The Tale of Two Coasts Championship.

The Mid-Am Net division featured one of the day’s most dramatic battles, with the lead changing hands before Jose Santiago (Orlando) surged down the stretch to claim the title with a 3-over-par 75.

Jimmy DiBernardo (Orlando) held a one-shot advantage at the turn after a sensational net eagle on the par-3 seventh helped him post a 1-over 37. But the momentum shifted immediately on the back nine when a difficult net triple bogey on the 10th erased his lead and opened the door.

Jose, who trailed by one after the front nine, took full advantage. He played composed, steady golf over the inward nine to post a 37, taking control of the championship. Jimmy made one final charge with a clutch net eagle on the par-5 14th to pull back into contention, but a costly double bogey on the very next hole left him two shots behind with only three holes to play.

Jose calmly closed out the round to finish at 75, while Jimmy settled for second at 78. Ben Heinking (Chicago) mounted a late rally with birdies on the 11th and 17th to finish just one stroke further back at 79, while Amanda Henneman (Utah) remained in the hunt before a difficult 12th hole ultimately led to an 80.

When the pressure was at its highest, Jose delivered the steadiest finish of the day, turning a one-shot deficit into a championship victory at The Tale of Two Coasts Championship.

The Senior Net division delivered our most dramatic finish of the day, as Steven Eisenberg (Orlando) stormed home over the final stretch to steal the title with a clutch 77.

Steven trailed by four shots heading to the back nine, needing something special to climb back into contention. He wasted no time making his move, opening the inward stretch with a stunning net eagle on the par-3 11th that immediately slashed the deficit and shifted the pressure to the leader.

At the time, David Densieski (Florida Southwest) appeared in control after steady play through the middle portion of his round, carrying a slim cushion into the closing stretch. But as the pressure mounted, Steven kept charging, trimming shots hole by hole and refusing to go away.

The championship came down to the final hole. Steven stepped up and delivered again with a closing net birdie on the 18th, capping a furious comeback run. On the other side of the fairway, David unfortunately stumbled with a net bogey on the finishing hole, turning what had been a strong performance into a heartbreaking finish and flipping the leaderboard at the very last moment.

When the pressure reached its peak, Steven delivered his best golf of the day right when it mattered most… turning a four-shot deficit into a dramatic, walk-off victory at The Tale of Two Coasts Championship.
