The 2026 OKC Open Championship was contested at the beautiful Shawnee Country Club over an 18-hole course playing to a par of 71. The tournament delivered a tough test of golf on a blistering hot day with very little wind. 51 players completed 18 holes and consistency proved to be the deciding factor, as players who avoided big numbers found themselves near the top of the standings by day’s end.
Division 1
The 2026 OKC Open Championship featured one of the most competitive Division 1 fields this year, with 10 players battling for the championship. While several players made strong runs throughout the day, it was Conner Compton who combined consistency with timely scoring to claim the title. Ryan Martin produced the tournament’s best closing stretch with a 2 under 34, however it was Conner Compton’s balanced 36-35 round proved unbeatable.
By avoiding major mistakes and maintaining steady play throughout all 18 holes, Compton captured the championship with a winning total of 71, finishing four shots ahead of the nearest challengers and earning the 2026 APT Open Championship title. Compton’s round featured birdies on holes, 6, 8, 13, 15 & 18. The most birdies of 51 player field.
John Ryan Bonaobra recovered from a challenging front nine to finish in a tie for second place. After shooting 39 on the front side, he responded with a strong 36 on the back. The highlight of his round came on Hole 16, where he carded a tournament-best 2, helping fuel a late charge up the leaderboard. Bonaobra’s resilience and strong closing stretch made him one of the day’s biggest movers.
Sam Clowe posted the lowest opening nine holes of any player in the field with a 35, immediately establishing himself as a championship contender. Clowe’s round took a turn at Hole 10, where a score of 7 stalled his momentum. Despite the setback, he rebounded well enough to retain a share of second place. His lone birdie came on hole 15.
Division 2
Jacob Shumway captured the Division 2 APT Open Championship with the most balanced round of the field of 11 players. In his first tournament on the APT Tour, his scorecard featured steady play from beginning to end and avoided the major setbacks that affected many in the field. Shumway carded a 39- 39 score for a division best 78.
Shumway’s opening birdie on Hole 1 immediately put him in a positive position, and he maintained a remarkably consistent pace throughout all 18 holes. While several competitors produced lower stretches during portions of the round, Shumway’s ability to limit mistakes ultimately secured the championship.
Several players flashed brilliance, including John Behrend’s 2 over 37 front 9, Conner Hoelting’s back 9, 39, and the multiple birdie rounds turned in by Joseph Robinson and Dustn Overton. In the end, however, Shumway’s steady, mistake-limiting performance proved to be the winning formula. His even split of 39 on both nines delivered a championship score of 78 (+7) and earned him the title of 2026 APT Open Champion.
Jaeden Hume’s round included a birdie on hole 9 that completed a front 9, 38, and a strong recovery after a 7 on the difficult 15th hole. Hume remained in contention throughout the round with a back nine 41 and was 1 of 3 players to finish 1 back of Shumway at 79.
Dustn Overton’s round featured birdies on holes 2 & 13 and consistent play in the middle of the round to finish with a 38-41 79. Overton led the field for most of the day until a double bogey on hole 16 put him behind needing a birdie on 18 tie Shumway.
Joseph Robinson finished the day matching Hume and Overton’s rounds of 38-41 to complete a 3-way tie for 2nd at 79. Robinson’s round featured birdies on holes 2 & 8 as he looked to keep pace in the Player of the Year race with Kirk Russell who posted a tournament win in the DFW Chapter Sunday morning.
Division 3
In the biggest division with 14 players, Ryan Miller produced the best front-nine charge with 3 birdies in the first 9 holes; Michael Treat steadily climbed into the top three. When the final putts dropped, however, it was Darrin Stewart’s calm, methodical round of 80 that stood above the rest. By limiting mistakes, posting the best back-nine score in the field, and handling pressure on the 18th hole, Stewart sank an 8-foot putt to avoid a playoff and captured the 2026 APT Open Championship.
Stewart’s round featured one birdie on hole 12, 7 pars in the final 9 holes, and nothing worse than a bogey on his card to finish out a round of 41- 39.
Ryan Miller had 3 birdies on the first nine holes, making birdies on holes 2, 6, 7. A birdie on 15 kept Miller in the tournament with a chance to go to a playoff until Stewart made his 8 foot putt.
Michael Treat quietly put together a balanced round with a 43- 42, 85 to finish in the money at 3rd place. His lone birdie came on the par 5, 13th hole.
Division 4
In a field of 9 players, Trevor Peck surged early with the best front nine; Hickory Vanwinkle mounted the strongest comeback, and Bryan Jennings stayed in contention until the closing holes. Ultimately, Justin Gates delivered the most complete performance of the tournament, combining consistency, clutch scoring, and his lone birdie on hole 12 to finish at 88 (+17) and earn the title of 2026 APT Open Champion.
Justin Gates had the lowest score in the field and a round built on steady play. After recording a solid 42 on the front nine, Gates maintained his position with a 46 on the back, finishing one stroke clear of Bryan Jennings.
Bryan Jennings stayed in contention all day and finished just one shot behind the champion. He opened with a strong front nine, 43, and he closed out with pars on 16 & 17 and left a birdie putt short on 18 to finish 1 back of Gates.
Trevor Peck’s round included the best front nine out of the 9 players in the division. His round included birdies on holes 9 & 11. Peck struggled on the tough back nine to take away his hopes of taking home the champion title.
David Stinnett’s round was highlighted by a back nine 44 to finish 2 shots back of Gates. The finishing 44 was the 2nd best back nine in the field.
Division 5
Coby Albro and Richie Pettifer both navigated the challenging course with balanced scorecards and timely birdies, finishing at 90 (+19). Max Flowers finished a strong third, while Scott Epperley and Neil McGary rounded out the top five. In the end, Albro’s and Pettifer’s steady play across all 18 holes proved enough to earn to playoff for the 2026 APT Open Championship.
Albro and Pettifer started the playoff on hole 1. Albro was in the hole for a 4 with Pettifer 20 feet away to halve the hole. Albro was thinking about the victory only to have Pettifer to drill his 20-footer into the back of the cup to halve the hole and move on to a 2nd hole. Going back to the tee on #1, both players made a bogey 5 to force a 3rd playoff hole. For the 3rd time playing #1, Pettifer got it done with a par for back-to-back wins. This marked Pettifer’s 2nd win on the APT Tour.
Pettifer’s played a consistent round with a 44- 46 showing. A key par on the 17th hole, kept his 1 shot advantage going to the par 5, 18th hole. Pettifer bogeyed 18 to Albro’s par to force the playoff.
Albro’s round matched Pettifer’s with 44- 46 performance. He had the only birdie for the day in the field of 7, making a 4 on par 5, 8th hole. Albro forced the playoff with a par 5 on the 18th hole while Pettifer bogeyed. He seemed to have a playoff win until Pettifer made his long putt.
Mid-Am Net
This contest was a story of players playing better than their tour index from past tournaments. Dustn Overton’s strong 2nd place finish is D2 propelled him to an 8 under showing in the net game. Ryan Miller finished 2nd and in the money with a 6 under par, while Stephen Pilant (-3) and John Berhend (-1) fell short.
Senior Net
While he was disappointed not to take home the D5 Championship, Coby Albro finished 4 under to take home the Senior Net Championship. Finishing in the money for 2nd place Bryan Jennings round of 1 over was just enough to edge out Anothy Martin.
