Harbor Club Golf Tournament Results

Thanks to all the players that made it out to Harbor Club and made it another fantastic event for APT!  Harbor Club was most accommodating with their top notch staff and amenities, and the course was in fantastic shape!  Even in the heat of the summer, the bent grass greens were rolling smoothly, the rough was thick and the fairways were plush!  Congrats to our winners!

Division 1

It was home sweet home for our D1 winner, Russell Sabol.  Coming from Augusta APT tour, Russ was able to hold on to a 3 shot victory shooting a 77 from 6825yds at Harbor Club.  Even after Russ took a 9 on the par 4 5th hole, he was able to keep his head above water by making 4 additional birdies.  Nice playing Russ!  And congrats to APT Tour newbie Wren Fowler (Atlanta) and David Douglas (Atlanta) for tying for 2nd place shooting an 8 over par 80.

Division 2

It was a tight finish for the top 2 guys in D2 on Sunday, but it came down to the last 2 holes to separate the winner!  Congrats to APT Local Chapter Owner AJ Ayala for almost making a hole in 1 on the 176yd par 3 17th and a double bogey 6 on 18 secured the victory by 1!  Congrats to Tyler E Kemp (Augusta) for coming in 2nd place!  Tyler had the win in the bag after his eagle on par 4 15th, but then went bogey, double bogey, double bogey on 16, 17 and 18 and couldn't hold onto the win.  And congrats to James Davis (Atlanta) for shooting an 87 and further proving he's in the correct division even on a tough course.

Division 3

I could not be happier for the winner in D3 at Harbor Club!  This player has been coming to APT tournaments, playing and practicing in the off weeks to only get better and he comes to this tournament and wins by 9 shots!  Congrats on his very first win EVER, to Bryan Wimberly (Atlanta)!  Bryan had a stellar round today and cannot be happier for you!  Congrats to Shawn Powers (Atlanta) on his 2nd place finish!  Shawn has been a stable and consistent player in our D3 and had a solid round.  And congrats to Wes Graves (Augusta) on finishing in 3rd place.

Division 4

Congrats to our D4 winner Robert Strob (Augusta)!  Robert didn't have any birdies, but made quite a few pars and was able to minimize the damage when he was out of position.  That's what you have to do sometimes to save your score in a tournament.  Congrats to our 2nd place finishers Kip Moore (Atlanta) and Rob Holtzclaw (Birmingham).  Kip made an incredible eagle on the par 4 7th hole, but was unable to hold on the rest of the round, and Rob played solid all day with a few holes that jumped up and bit him.  Even though these boys tied for 2nd place, they couldn't say enough about how well the tournament went and how nice the course was!

Division 5

I can't say enough about how awesome it is to have this kind of player in our D5.  Even though he didn't have much competition, he was the first group out on the course and was willing to help set up the golf course and helped take down flags and clean up after the tournament.  Congrats to Tony Stinner on his very 1st APT win and I'm sure more are on the way!  Tony has been a stable player at our tournaments, welcoming new players and taking them under his wing showing them how to play tournament golf.  Thank you so much for your help Tony!

We cannot thank our players enough for all their encouragement and appreciation for the tournaments.  All the players had nothing but great things to say about the course and how the course was set up.  We hope to see everyone out to our 2nd playoff event at Towne Lake Hills on August 14th!  Don't delay on getting registered for the event and miss out on playing this great golf course in Woodstock, GA!
