Division 1: Points leader Jerod Ewing started off with a birdie on the par 5 first, but then bogeyed the 2nd, but still managed to maintain a lead over Bobby Waker through the front 9. Then the back 9 started and for the 1st time on Amateur Player Tour- West Virginia history, an ace occurred. The downhill 156 yard par 3 10th was the turning point in Division 1 as Bobby Waker stepped up and used the bank to sink the ace in route to defeating Ewing by 1 to capture the trophy.
Division 2: Points leader Brandon Thompson was near the top all day long and used 2 birdies on the front 9 to capture the victory over guest player Ed Schoettker by 1. Brandon shot a front 9 35, compared to Ed’s 37. Those 2 shots were the difference as Brandon extended his points lead with just 3 events left on the WV schedule.
Division 3: Points leader Wayne Mills put together another sub 80 round to capture his 2nd straight victory and extend his points lead on returning player Matt Robinson who played his 1st event in 2 months from a knee injury. Matt came home 4th on the day and still seemed to favor his knee a little bit. Guest player Jon Dickson came home 2nd.
Division 4: Dave Shepperd shot a 79 on the day to capture the victory by 8 shots over Joey Fyall. Both Dave and Joey are in a tight battle for 3rd place as they try to catch 2nd place Marshall Kiser who did not play this week. Points leader Justin Keaton struggled all day and limped home to a 4th place finish.
Division 5: Was again a great matchup all day. Kevin Long went out first on the day and set the clubhouse number at +20. Visiting Kentucky tour member Lisa Moore was in the lead most of the day as she came to the final hole with a 1 shot lead over Kevin. Lisa found the fairway on 18, but then found trouble on her 2nd shot. Lisa needed to save bogey to go to a playoff with Kevin, but she ended up with a triple on the hole handing Kevin his 2nd victory of the season and ending the season long streak of visiting Kentucky players capturing at least one victory in a division during a West Virginia tournament. Lisa however did capture the Champions Net title by 1 stroke over Linda Ewing.
