Rocky Mountain Chapter heats up the winter with GTech at Green Spring
The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the APT moved to Washington, UT on Friday, January 14th for the second leg of the Winter Southern Swing. Players converged for a single-day, stroke play event at Green Spring GC.
In Division 1, Mike Membrilla (73) used four birdies amongst steady play and picked up his first win on the Amateur Players Tour.
Recently promoted to Division 2, Shawn Larsen (87) wasted little time in returning to the winner’s circle. 2021 RMC Tour Champion, Jay DeJesus would give Larsen a run, tied going to the 18th hole. An uncharacteristic bogey however would leave DeJesus one stroke short of forcing a playoff.
RMC Chapter Owner, Luke Barritt (84) picked up his first win of the 2022 season, leading the field by 4 strokes. Shannon Lester (88) rounded out the Division 3 money line as the runner-up.
Terry Shaw (94) ran away with the title in Division 4, besting Jeremy Conetah (31) by nine strokes.
In Division 5, Mark Ingalls (88) shot an impressive sub-90 round and took home division champion honors. APT newcomer, Matt Walden (90) was just two shots back, but won the net competition at an impressive +2, 74. Closest to the Pin winners were Brian Brand (#2), Luke Barritt (#5), Bob Woitalla (#15), and Jeff Clifford (#17). Super Skins (NET) were won by Shannon Lester (10), Dillon Patterson (14), and Mark Ingalls (17).
Players teamed up to compete for a brand new APT adorned hand-warmer from the newest partner on Tour, GTech Apparel. In a net best-ball competition of two divisions, yielded two leaders, Jeff Clifford & Dillon Patterson (72) and Luke Barritt & Shawn Larsen (71). Patterson/Clifford would beat Larsen/Barritt in a putt-off to win each of themselves the GTech hand-warmers.
Congratulations to all of our winners! The next event will be on February 19th at The Ledges of St. George.
