John Lambert is a 21-year retired Army Veteran who now works in logistics on an Army contract at Fort Belvoir. Melissa Lambert has been an elementary school teacher for 29 years. Together, they lead the Virginia Capital chapter of the Amateur Players Tour. John and Melissa joined the APT in its inaugural year, and 2025 marks Year 6 for the Virginia Capital chapter. John has run golf events since 1992 during his time in the military and previously served as a local director on another tour before joining the APT. John oversees tournament operations, while Melissa manages registration, handles snacks, and helps monitor pace of play. John is also an active sports official in basketball, baseball, girls’ softball, and volleyball, with experience officiating at the collegiate level in both basketball and baseball. Outside of golf and work, John and Melissa enjoy traveling with their two dogs, Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
